Congrats on the American muscle, I bet the wife will warm up to it.

Just do what I do. When they give the silent treatment, just go about your business and don't fan any flames. Afer a while they start to feel a bit guilty and come around. At least mine does.

Russ, it's a car ( a really fast, beautiful, screamin car) but still it is a car. I guarantee you there are a lot of people who wish their spouses picked up a new car rather than a new Joe, Susi, Bud, or (fill in the blank). I could handle my wife bringing home a new mini wagon (that's what floats her boat). A new Joe or Susi not so much.

BTW and I know you won't but I have to say it. Do not use this rational at anytime when talking to a spouse.

That is so awesome. What's sad is my wife has never even looked at the car. She just "doesn't like those "type" if cars". Sad.

JC, I hear ya girl. This actually saved my family money while making dad very happy.

I don't get it. I'm always a cheerleader for my wife getting what she wants even if I don't like it.

Kinda makes me feel like a total idiot.

In one way I'm very happy but it's being crushed by the one in all the millions of people I waited for and selected in this world to share my wife with. Sorta humiliating. Thanks for letting me share. It's so much worse than I can really feel like saying here. :(

Shell get over it man. Youre a great dad and an awesome husband. Its obvious by the way you talk about your family, not to mention the family fun time pics you posted awhile ago. You make enough money to support your family, and even get to take vacations and let your kids do extracarricular activities. If you can do it, and it doesnt take away from any of that, then theres no problems.

She might be worried that youll go balls out with the thing and wreck it and hurt yourself. Or maybe shes worried that all the young cuties will be checkin out your new fancy ride.

Either way, you more than adequately take care of your family, and youre a faithful and loving husband and father. Shell get over it, i promise man. It just may take a week or two

Maybe she feels insecure and thinks the car is somehow an indicator that you want "new models" if you know what I mean? I don't ever want to paint whole swaths of people with broad brushes, but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. My husband got his F150 and I've spent the larger part of the last decade raising HIS children (my step kids) so when I was able to afford something better than a second-hand car I knew I deserved it for all my hard work and I got it. He didn't begrudge me my sports car for one minute. Maybe you should ask her what's really upsetting her cuz I don't think it's the car.

Big hugs, Man -- just let a little time go by.

Take a cue from Walter White on Breaking Bad when he bought his son a similar car. His wife was mad and told him to take it back, so he took it out to an empty lot, ran the crap out of it for a while, cut a few donuts, smoke the tires, then set it on fire. Yeah, THAT'LL teach her!

Ya know I think all women are the sane. when the family gets a new car it's for mommy and daddy drives the old clunker.

One would think are happiness should be thought of too.. but I guess we need to stick to wife happy, we happy approch. Crap! Not! Doomed.. all the time? What about me?
Right where I'm at, got the wife a new 2015 Nissan last August to replace the minivan, meanwhile I'm still driving my 17 yr old civic.

Hey friend same thing happened to me bought a Dodge SRT 10, V10, viper motor, 505 horses out of the box, and a whopping 8 MILES TO THE GALLON (mid life crisis, I don't know???). The beauty of it is she got over it (everything luvy duvy) and till this day she has never driven it. She did ask once when her van was in the shop, I said no take my jeep (I have my reasons why) she has never asked again.

I know it really sucks because the silent treatment would bother me too, but yes, she will get over it.

It's got to be kind of hard to fully enjoy the car because of the way she feels. She may just be getting frustrated with all the things you are doing for yourself like your vaping hobby, all the videos you make and now a new car on top of it. I'm trying to think like her right now.

Maybe you'll have to organize some kind of family outing or something to show her some of the "slowed down, old family man" she wants. It's s good weekend for that too.

Regardless of what you do, she'll start coming around soon.

Enjoy the car, Russ. You deserve it and it frickin' rocks!

Sounds like good advice right there. Since you have started vaping and getting into it, your life has been changing, a lot, it sounds like. I can see her being afraid of that.
