So back when I started vaping, my wife and I were trying to get her brother to try them out. To that end we got him to buy an eGo kit. He seemed to take to it only briefly before going back to smokes. He's kind of lazy. I mean, lazier than me. I guess he wanted something as easy as a cigarette, and E-cigs weren't.

Much to my surprise, yesterday he expressed a much more earnest desire to get back into E-cigs -- this time for good. He came by today and I gave him my 510 kit. (I have a bunch of eGos lying around anyway so I'm not hurting for backups.) He preferred the slim form factor rather than the fatbatt style. I warned him about battery life and such, but he was quite set on the slim battery style.

Well, fine. So I gave him a couple of my Fluxomizers to try out and made him some juices -- just some straight spearmint and a bubblegum at 12mg. He seemed set on trying to get some kind of equivalency in nicotine to what he was smoking. I tried explaining to him that it doesn't really work that way, but eventually I just had to explain that 12mg/ml is roughly equivalent to the nicotine of 6-8 of his cigarettes taken over the same period of time it would normally take him to smoke that many. I didn't bother explaining speculative absorption rates between smoke and vapor. I didn't want to confuse him.

So I showed him how to fill them (I modded them for him with the seal mod) and how to take them apart to clean them. Although I think the extra hassle involved in these is still going to make him give up, he seemed quite determined to quit smoking this time -- said he had his "last pack" of cigarettes in his car and he wasn't going to buy anymore.

Well, I sincerely hope he does it this time and I wish him all the luck in doing so. I'll help him wherever I can and try and keep him on track with the vaping. Maybe he'll really stick with it this time.

Is dripping out of the question? I've found that dripping is the least hassle of all types. Or rather, the most convenient? Drip when you want it, and that's it. No need to be concerned about topping off or burning filler or any of that. Taste goes bad? Stop or drip some more.

He doesn't want to carry bottles around. He'd rather prefill and swap carts.

There is nothing wrong using carts. I don't like carrying a bottle either, every 4-5 puffs seems laborious to me. And I didn't want to mess with a syringe, the thermometer shake, condom fill or Taryn spin AND top off at 50%. However the BIL wants to vape, let him, lest he backtracks again. :)

Happy B-day to you or wife, was it! :toast:

Well, that's kind of it. He's rather clueless -- and no, directing him here wouldn't do any good. He doesn't like to read when he could just call someone and ask (he's not a very social person to say the least and I don't think he's ever even visited a forum that didn't come up in a Google search for something he wanted to know that I couldn't answer), so basically, I am his ECF, and he's the newbie who knows almost nothing. That's why I'm having to figure out something that will suit him, and that something has to be dead easy.

I'm thinking of seeing if he's willing to shell out for a Volt or Bloog and a bunch of cartos he can just chuck when they fade out.

Thanks! It's my wife today. Mine's this coming Monday.

The big, dreaded 4-0.

I started with V2 808 prefilled cartos...dead easy. Charge batt, screw carto in, vape. It was quite expensive, but very easy. Once I got off analogs, I went 510, Riva and filled my own CARTS. Still fairly easy. :)

Wait 'til you get near the big Five-O, and I don't mean the classic theme song/surfing music, which I have!

Well, I don't think he's going to mind refilling his own carts too much, as it's still probably just inside his laziness threshold as long as he takes his desire not to smoke into account. It's the cleaning I think would ultimately break the deal for him. That's why I think a Volt or MaxxFusion would be ideal for him. Just invest in a bag o' 808 cartos and a starter kit with PCC plus some juice and I think he'd be set for months.

You laugh, but I'm going to tell everyone to "Book 'im, Danno" on my 50th, just watch me. Nobody will have a bloody clue what I'm on about, but that will just make it funnier. :)

Oh, I don't know. There's a remake of 5-0 on TV now, so we'll have a new generation.

But I'm sorry, nothing compares to the original - That opening is one of the all time greats, few could match since, crisp editing with fish-eye and all. Along with that rousing music and gorgeous scenery, it gets your blood going. Between that and the Magnum PI opening, I moved to Hawaii once. Here's a trip down memory lane: Hawaii Five 0 Intro - YouTube

As for heading towards 50, I'm pushing a lot harder than you are, young pup! I made the official baby boomer cutoff year with time to spare! :p
