I am using a Provari 2.5 with a Kanger Protank and I've been adjusting the voltage between 4.0 and 5.0 (under 4.0 it doesn't activate so I've ruled out under 4.0) the Protank is 2.5ohms. While drawing the inhale my Provari shuts off mid draw. I've tried adjusting up and down the voltage. What the heck am I doing wrong?

That is odd, I assume you got the 2.5 ohm reading from the Provari. The only thing I can think of is to try the Protank on another device and try another delivery system on the Provari, and see what happens. I'm guessing something is not quite right with the Protank, however if it fires fine on other APV's and the Provari has problems with other delivery systems, then you might want to contact Provape.

I don't have a Provari, yet, but I am sure some Provari owners will be along shortly to offer more help than I could.

Are you using IMRs in the ProVari? What's your Battery Voltage showing? Have you cleaned the positive contact off both the battery, as well as the contact plate on the chip inside the ProVari? Grime buildup between the battery and the chip inside the ProVari can cause all sorts of erratic behavior, but this sounds akin to a Protected Li-On shutting off from too high a load, which is why the IMRs are needed.

I am using the stock 18940amr battery. The battery voltage will show what i've adjusted it to. The Provari is new, I've only had it about a week so could it buildup that fast? The ohm rating is showing 2.5 on the provari. I'm wondering if it's the large air holes in the Protank and I'm just not getting the draw down. I've always been able to get accustomed to drawing from any other battery tank combo. The Protank worked great on my ego c twist also.

It also seems to be telling me to increase and decrease the voltage at times when this happens. It doesn't happen on every draw.

I know this sounds like, well, a rather silly statement but are you sure the firing button is remaining fully depressed when you're vaping? I got my Provari about 2 weeks ago and I did notice that on occasion the button will be pressed, but the LED will not be on, there's almost a hairline trigger towards the bottom of the button depression that turns it on and off. Just something I noticed when I first unboxed mine - the button is a bit more picky than I had thought it would be.

I had the same thing happen to me while I was using evod heads in the protank on a spinner. I had to leave the ego cone a half turn loose and then tighten down on the tank to get it to fire. If I tighten them both down all the way it doesn't work. I don't have this problem with the protank heads. I can tighten them both down all the way and it works fine. Don't know why this is but it is....

How long a drag? I believe the Provari has a cut off timer?

I have a somewhat similar problem with my Regular Provari and my AGA T2's. Sometimes the Provari just won't fire, yet registers an electrical contact by giving an ohm reading, and isn't giving an error code when I press the fire button...just nothing. I've tried to replicate this with the new Mini and it will fire the AGA's without issue.

Both of mine will shut off mid-drag if I get distracted and don't keep pressing firmly or my finger slides down the side of the button.

Yep this seems to be what was going on. It looks like the button has to be held firmly down. Yeah definitely a little more picky than I thought the button would be also, but not a problem :p! Thanks all for the help! :)
