I got my 510 passthrough from eastmall.

I think it might be DOA.

I know you need to charge the inline batt before hand, however, How should it be charged? Just by leaving it in the passthrough and plugging in the USB to a comp and letting it sit, or do I need to take the batt out and charge it?

I cant get that damn thing to work. Someone please help me on HOW TO MAKE THIS PASSTHOUGH WORK.

Or how to TEST it to see if its DOA.

THanks

Hi Derek...
I'm not familiar with the East Mall passthrough, but I have a similar one (Janty) for my Dura. With that one, the battery does NOT need a full charge prior to using it. The battery acts as a voltage regulator/reducer and buffer. It does charge as it sits in the USB port, but most batteries come with a partial charge (about 40% I think) that should be enough to see if the device is working properly.
In your case, I would check to make sure that you are getting good contact at the center pin where it screws on to the atomizer. Mine was kind of difficult to thread on, and didn't make contact at first. I had to clean up the threads to get it to seat properly. Works like a champ to this day!:p

Hope this helps
Chris

Sorry for the double post, but I just thought of something else that might help you. If you find out that you are not making contact, and can't or don't have the ability to clean up the threads, here is a nifty trick to close the gap on the center pin. This was originally done on an 801, but the principal is the same. Check it out!

If you have a multimeter you could probably use that to find out something. Sorry I can't be more specific as to what or how, but would be interested as well for testing one of my own.

I couldn't get Biteme's link to work for me so just in case it's not going there for you either, here it is again. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-center-conductor-gap-penstyle-atomizers.html
