hey everyone I just bought my blu starter kit last saturday, {05/21/11} and I have researched it for hours. lol
&* I have found that I still have a ton of questions, I don't exactly understand the concept of attys, cartos, and refilling. I want to refill my carts, because it seems I can save a lot of money that way. My kit should be here tomorrow. I was reading some of the other posts and found that a lot of people are using different attys, which leads me to my first question:

can u replace they attys on the new blu ecigs?

&* what is the best ones to use?

can u replace the carts? &* what is the best ones to use?

what is the best place to buy smoke juice from? I don't want to use the ones from blu, because I want to try new flavors?

do u have to replace the filters, {the material in the carts} &* if so where can i buy them?

sorry I know that this have been asked like a million times before, but I can't find anything on it. &* like I said, it confuses the crap outta me. I'm not big on mods and stuff so I know nothing about any of this lol but your opinions are greatly appreciated. &* I'm trying to quit smoking also so I hope this helps. I have been reading a lot of bad reviews about blu &* I just want to have a good experience with it, because it's my first e-cig.

&* as u can tell I don't know how to change the numbers of the list....I'm completly stupid when it comes to electronics {ironically I bout the e-cig huh} lmao

I am not too familiar with blu cigs, but I checked out the site. Looks like a 510 copy with cartomizers. You can refill those cartomizers by removing the cap and dripping directly on the filler. From what I can tell, you should be able to use any standard resistance 510 cartomizers on that. I think since you are just starting out. Cartomizers would be better than using an atomizer.

Before you get to invested in the 510 stuff, I recommend going with something like a ego or one of the other longer lasting batteries. You will be surprised just how short those little and even mega 510 batteries lives are. And the 510 mega atomizers and cartridges are crap, don't even waste your time on those. So don't do what I did and spend a few hundred dollars for chargers attys and all that stuff for a 510 and just get something with some more juice. You will thank yourself later.

thank you, that helps :D

No problem. Here is a good supplier of cartomizers for the 510.

510 Blank Cartomizers

Shipping is only 2.25 and they ship pretty fast.

Unfortunately, you didn't come here sooner so people could steer you away from that blu cig kit. Its a little overpriced for what you get. But you definitely aren't the first one to buy an overpriced kit for your first one. I definitely did.

i would suggest some around an ego or riva. the battery life on them are great. When i used the ego before i switched over to a mod, my ego battery would last me a day and half. some problems with the kr808's which are a lot of the standard batteries out there which are just rebranded with someones name and 510 the battery life wont last as long as others. liberty-flights.com has great prices on ego's or rivas and if you click the 20% off on the top of the page it helps with a good discount off the product. but if you are looking into kr808 or 510, v4L has great deals on their kr808's, and i know in the classified section you will find great deals on e-cigs of all kinds. the easy way i found to fill up a carto is just pop the top rubber piece off and drip about 18 drips tilting and spinning the carto around. good luck in find something at fits your needs! and welcome!

+1 on that. But it wouldn't hurt to start on a smaller battery that is more cigarette like. But after about a week of vaping, you are likely going to find yourself wanting more power. Check out the Riva 510 lite bundle at Liberty-Flights.com. With the 20% off it comes up to about 31 shipped. They also carry boge 510 cartomizers. Now once you go to a bigger battery like the riva you could experiment with low resistance cartomizers which will give you alot more vapor. The kit also come with a low resistance atomizer to try.

The new Blu with the cartomizers? I believe it's an L88b Chinese wholesaler model. I think it s batteries can use Joye 510 and Joye 306 standard resistance atomizers and cartomizers (nothing marked LR or low resistance, nothing with ohms lower than 2.8). HOWEVER do not ever try to charge a 510 battery in Blu charger or PCC and don't do the opposite either because you will melt the battery and could get hurt. Blu is opposite electrical polarity. The atomizers and cartomizers don't care about polarity but batteries and chargers care very much.

I'm new too, been vaping for about a month and a half. I have a blu (my first purchase) and liked it so much I bought a joye ego (second) from goodprophets.com so I would have 2 kits to get my wife off the analogs. Despite the bad reviews I read about the blucigs I love both kits. My wife won't use them so I use both, the ego to drip at home and with carto's in the car, and I take the blu with me when I go out work, school, bar, etc... where I want something that looks a little more like an analog.

I don't like the 510 carts the ego came with because they leak but I'm glad I got them because I use the 510 atomizers to drip on, and the rubber tips off the 510 carts are perfect for filling the blu carto's using the condom method which is super easy. When you empty your blu carto's just pop the cap off drip 8 or 9 drops in the rubber tip off the 510 cart and push the mouth end into the tip slowly and pop the cap back on. You can do that 3 times for 1 refill but my experience has taught me if you only do it twice for 1 refill the carto's perform better.

I also bought some Boge LR510 soft tip carto's from madvapes.com to use in the ego just to try them and I like them but honestly and this is just my opinion there's not much difference, they do produce a little more vapor but the draw is not as tight as the blu carto. I feel like too much air is coming in the Boge LR510 carto's which doesn't allow me to pull as long cause my mouth is filling with more air and I end up with about the same amount of vapor as the blu carto's. The cone on the ego does help with this a little but I like the pull I get off of the blu carto's better again just my opinion. I use both the blu carto's and the boge carto's in the ego. I do like that the Boge carto's came with "condoms" on them I use those "condoms" to fill the Boge's the same way I fill the blu carto's.

as for the juice I like the magnificent menthol from blu but I'm not going to buy new carto's everytime just to get that flavor. I have found a few from other sites that I really like and a few that I don't like at all. Taste is subjective so you may like something I hate and vice versa. I ordered a sample kit from johnsonscreek.com and out of the 10 samples really liked the summer peach, black cherry, and mint chocolate. The others were ok except for espresso which I couldn't stand.

I also ordered some juice from madvapes.com's topvapor line and I like most of them more than the johnson's creek juice. Rootbeer is my favorite from madvapes.com by far, watermelon, peach cobbler and cheesecake are awesome too. Peach cobbler and cheesecake did have to sit for about a week for the flavor to come out tho. The only one I didn't like was raspberry lemonade, it has a perfumy taste. All of madvapes juices I have tried produce more vapor than the johnson's creek juice and again this was my experience yours may be completely different.

Wow that was long lol If I still have your attention I hope this helps you

thanks, I just got my new blu kit today, and i like it, other than the fact it produces little vapor, but its okay for right now. I'm new mother so I don't get out a lot. I was looking for a e-cig that is going to produce a lot of vapor &* has a long battery life &* produces a good hit. I really don't care if it cost a lot as long as its worth it....so if you got any opinions they would be greatly appreciated :D

well i checked them out and am thinking about getting riva UNC?? I need some info about it first.....i wanna know everything from refilling to taking the first hit, like how I can make it produce great vapor and have a good hit, and i have no idea about all these atomizers, cause the blu has it all built in so i wanna learn about that and what one to get and just tell me what u would do so I can have so idea as to what i wanna do. thanks :D

Fellow blu user here. You can refill the cartomizers that you buy from blu. Just pop the round back piece off on the side you put in your mouth with a paper clip. Drip the juice in around the edges. Always do this with the cartomizer off the battery. If its screwed on the battery you can flood it. I love my blu cig. You'll quickly find alot of haters on here who are going to tell you to buy other stuff. Trust me, if you like the blu then stick with it. The cartomizers you get from blu can be refilled and used several times. Also Volcano cigs has a website which sales prefilled cartridges and seperate atomizers that will fit the blu. I also hear that 306 cartomizers fit the blu but I've never tried it and they are hard to find. Right now I'm using the prefilled cartomizers from blu. When the flvor runs out I refill them with ejuice.

Also when your smoking the blu make sure that your fingers arent covering the gold ring where the cartomizer and the battery screw together. This will clog the air holes and keep you from getting good vapor. The downside to a blu or any mini cig is the battery life. This can easily be fixed by ordering 1 or 2 extra batteries to have charged up. Volcano Fine Electronic Cigarette...home of the best eCig has them for 5.99 a piece if you order two or more they are the volcano style. You can get great vapor out of a blu if you know how to use it. Hope this helps.

if it works for you, no one will tell you to buy something else. the normal progression is to go from an analog look alike to little bigger battery, hence the other suggestions. i went the same route you did and i was fine until i noticed that i had to recharge the batteries every 2 or 3o hours (i was a 2 pack a day smoker).
if you are a light smoker, it might not be a big deal to you and the blu might be just the ticket.
the vapor does depend onthe pg/vg ratio and the cartomizer. if you use low resistance cartomizers for ex, you will get not only more vapor but throat hit will be noticeably better as well.
something else that will give you more throat hit is higher nicotine level in your juice.
baby steps,it takes a while to get all this figured ou but you are on the right track!

thanks, i'm really glad you posted (jwtaylor) I really love my blu, and now i'm not so worried i'll have to buy another one :D

Just give it time and you'll know which e cig is right for you. All the information can be overwhelming to begin with. The easiest and most cost effective way to use the blu would be to buy some e juice from halo, freedomsmokeuse, awesomevapor or any other reputable juice seller and refill the blu cartomizers. You will have to purchase new cartomizers from blu everyonce in a while to keep them working good. Use them until the original flavor runs out and refill them. This will prevent you from buying atomizers and empty cartridges like some have suggested. The 510 cartomizer will work but it is bigger than the blu cig and will stick out and look funny. Buy a 1 or 2 extra batteries, some cartridges from blu and some e juice and you'll be fine. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. Happy vaping.
