Hello ecf, I got really lucky last weekend and won a mod in a drawing at my local vape shop.
My wife and I both won tesla mechanical m4 mods. Don't get me wrong I am extremely grateful and appreciative to have won them. However they take 16500 batteries!! :(
Luckily the mod did come with one battery but I cannot find a single vendor that sells that size battery anywhere. If anyone could provide me with a link to a vendor that does carry this oddball size I would greatly appreciate it. I do need back up batteries.

I could also greatly benefit from any information about the 16500 battery. Especially amp limit.
I'm assuming that I should stay within normal limits as far as resistance is concerned but I have no idea! So if anyone could help me to use this mod safely I would certainly appreciate it very much. Thanks if you read all the way down to this sentence :)

I'm thinking you made a typo. Did you mean 18490/18500 batteries?

AW 18490 IMR (1100mah) 16.5 Amp continuous discharge rate. http://www.rtdvapor.com/

Understand that the Tesla is a regulated mod which requires "high drain" type batteries for its PWM (pulse width modulation) boost circuitry. The above battery is a high drain IMR battery. Also understand that your Tesla will not fire a coil under 1.0 ohm(sub ohm) due to protective circuitry.

UPDATE: I did a little research on the Tesla. It uses 18650 batteries.

Use the same link above to find the red AW 18650 IMR 2000 mAh 10 amp batteries.

Interesting little feller'. Tesla - M4 Mechanical Mod

Batteries... looks like the mech made it out of China faster than the batteries did. Ask Vaporius how they intend to supply their Tesla M4 buyers. ;-)

Expocell seems to be a China wholesaler S&S... hard to tell though. Push comes to shove wilber, as S&S suggests, call them and see if they have any US retailers.

I addition to your problem, even if you find this battery from a china vendor, I would not recommend you order that said battery. China has cracked down on battery shipments and most likely you will not receive your order due to confiscation. Assuming you live in the US, I would put those new toys in a drawer until you can find a US vendor who supplies that battery size. Sorry for the bad news, but that's what I would do in if I were in your position.

There are a number of vendors that carry AW 18490 batteries. They're excellent batt's, and yes they are perfectly acceptable for use in any mod requiring and 18500 battery. The only difference is they're 10 mm shorter, but generally give the same mah rating.

AW IMR18490 1100 mAh Battery

18500 & 18490 Battery - AltSmoke

These take 16500, not 18. I'm not positive it will work. Only way to know is ask someone smarter, or try.

Regardless of whether its a mechanical or regulated mod, any 18490/18500 battery will work in it. Batteries are not proprietary to a particular mod. The AW 18490 IMR I linked to above will work in this Tesla mech mod.

This is not the Tesla model you think it is. The 18490 will not work in this mod unfortunately. This will need a 16xxx series battery

Sorry, I stand corrected then. I found some, but I DO NOT recommend them because they are un-protected Li-Ion batteries.

This battery size is going to be extremely difficult to find. Especially a safe battery this size. Guess you weren't so lucky after all. You likely won a useless mod.

I don't consider it useless my wife loves the mod for the size and looks. How about this.... I'll give her my battery so she has a spare battery until they become more readily available. However in the meantime so she is safe can anyone dig up the amp limit so I can wrap her the proper coils so that she's safe? Please and thank you :)

I don't see a 'C' rating, and I don't trust the (usually well overstated by "enthusiastic" Chinese companies), 1100mAh capability, so I'd treat it like a decent 800mAh 18350... and keep the coils conservative for now until you can obtain more information.

wow that looks just like a Legacy except for the color.....what are the details ?

All I know so far is they come in blue, black, purple, and silver. They're pretty small good for a girls hand in my opinion( my wife loves it) has venting and airflow holes on top and bottom. 510, and ego threading, Lock ring, and a semi stiff button.aluminum body. Stainless beauty rings.... Laser etched tesla logo. That's the best description I can give you. It came with a battery, a charger and a protank 2 clone.
I'll post more pics if there's an interest
