1)My first RBA

2)My first RDA

3)A new regulated mod cause VTR is a bit heavy. Not interested in huge clouds.

3)Materials for rebuilding Protank single and dual coils,Aspire BDC (and BVC?) coils, iclear 30s and coils for 1) and 2)

4)Tools that are helpful for rebuilding

5)Are pre-built coils any good for the tanks mentioned above? If yes can you indicate where to get them

Bear in mind that I am a complete novice in rebuilding so please consider that in your replies. Also,if for any of the above there is a possibility to buy from fasttech, that would be handy because I am gonna order from them soon.
Saying thanks in advance for the 100th time. This forum couldn't be more helpful.

Please add OHMMETER to your list of goodies :)

I got a couple of kayfun clones from Fasttech this summer, and they have been pretty good to me. Many folks are raving about the iStick as the "new shiny thing" - I don't have one at this time. I have a couple of MVP2s. I hear the MVP3s are supposed to be out around Christmas. Materials for rebuilding Protank coils would include kanthal (I personally use 30g) and cotton or rayon (cellucotton). Others use silica or even ekowool as the wicking material. Check Lightningvapes for those materials.

Tools in my rebuilding kit are VERY simplistic - I have a 1/16" drill bit, a pair of beard trimming scissors (for trimming the wicks), a pair of nail clippers for trimming the wire and I'd gotten a couple of the tiny flat-head and phillips screwdrivers that came with my kayfuns.

PLEASE read up on Ohms Law and make sure you're comfortable with rebuilding processes. There are some great videos and links (merely google "rebuild kayfun" and "rebuild protank coils", and you'll get a ton of responses)

I don't have any RDAs, so I don't have any recommendations for you.

Ohmmeter belongs to the tools category.Any specific ones?
Is Kanthal a safe choice?I think I read somewhere about possible health issues because of the aluminium.
The iStick is a nice one but I already have an Itaste VV v3 and I am not so positive on non-removable batteries.More specifically I am interested in one that takes one or two 18650 batteries.
Can you also send me a link of the kayfun you propose?
Are there any good RBA/RDAs that are 19mm max in diameter so they fit the VTR?
So any more proposals?

I would say a 30w hana clone (upgradable and rebuildable) for powering and tuning the vape of a rebuildable tank and a tube style mech mod for the dripper. $60 total from FT. Best of both worlds. Otherwise, to take full advantage of most drippers you would need a higher power variable which would be more money for only one device.
And once you have a proper rba/rda setup, you'll probably put the clearomizers away.

I started on the twist and tank. Moved to MVP and Kanger. THEN I got an RDA. I took me a month to figure it out. Anyway.
I tried re-building the kanger type coils. It was OK. I am sure Many people do it. Not for me.

Just a suggestion.... don't buy anything
I would check out some of Rip's videos. These helped me tremendously.
RiPTrippers

You will be able to see tools you need. Hmmm In his vids Rip tells you the Ohms for the builds, but I don't think he ever used an ohm meter. I think also no one ever says what really to use it for.
So, i use mine to not only determine resistance in ohms, but I also "touch" the coils while measuring to determine if there is a short or a screw needs to be tightened. You see what I am talking about when you look at the vids.

Once you get the process and think you can do it.... then buy ONE of the above. It takes time to make it how you like it.
I assure you once you start dripping everything will change.

Good luck!!!

Regards,
