It all began nearly 20 yrs ago, this torrid on-again/off-again affair I've been carrying on with cigarettes. Last year I tried an e-cig for the first time at a mall kiosk. I wanted to buy it, I really did. It was packaged in a pretty box and was just beckoning to my impulsive side. However, it didn't smoke like a real cig and for $150 the savvy shopper in me knew I'd better give it at least 24 hrs.
Well, I gave it roughly a whole year
I had quit smoking last summer, with the help of the patch, for about a month and a half. It was a struggle. I drew my curtains so I wouldn't see the lanai where I would sit and smoke. I must've put on 5 lbs attempting to sate the hand-to-mouth habit. Then life pulled a "You're in for it now, honey." trick. You know the kind ... the most unexpected tragedy occurs and of course hits close to home (family) and the stress piles on and before you know it, you're actively ripping open a pack of already ridiculously over-priced ultra light and uber tiny cigarettes (Marlboro UL 72's).
Last month I was out of town visiting a friend and we popped into a head/smoke shop where she lives and they were selling a kit for $75. I took a look at it (Luci) and it did look nice, but when I turned the box over it had a sticker that read $149.99. I was going to buy this item if not for that sticker. I thought to myself, if this is as good as it should be why would they mark it down 50%??
I decided to do some research when I got home. That was delayed until last week when I spent a lot of time researching PVs. I am so down with the verbiage and I have read DonDaBoomVape's series twice and referred to it [already] countless times.
He has me sold on the 801, btw, though I didn't order it with my first purchase. I hope I made good choices. I did do my best to take in to consideration why, where & how I will be using them (yes, them) and what do I *think* will be most important to me (ie: throat hit, vapor, draw/pull, etc).
What I opted for, in the end, are the 901 & the RN4081. I was really leaning toward the 501 BUT it didn't matter which supplier's stash I gawked no one had an attractive PCC for it whereas the RN4081 has a box very akin (though probably a bit larger) to the old Calibri case I used to have for cigarettes-on-the-go-in-style. If you haven't already guessed it, the 4081 is going to be my on-the-go/in-my-purse PV.
I also ordered a VSVapor sampler pack. I hope it's at least alright. I suppose it's a good thing I don't have anything to compare it to, yet.
I'll try to remember to respond with feedback on my purchases. I purchased from US suppliers *scratch [back]* so hopefully it won't take too long for my items to get here.
Wish me some juicy vapin'
& .... ditto! ^
A special thanks to DonDaBoomVape (boy that's an f'ing mouthful). I can't imagine how long it took to write that series of information that daunted me each time I loaded a page in my browser and watched the scrollbar get smaller and smaller as the page continued to load more data. However, it is well written, informative, fun, witty, quirky and most of all EXTREMELY helpful. I think I'd still be googling right now if not for this man's contribution.
(edit: I tried to post a link to Don's threads but apparently I don't have enough posts to add URLs. It can be found in the ECF Library.)
If you are actively educating yourself about e-cigs/PVs you definitely want to refer to this series of posts.
And yes, I am posting this because I need 5 (4, now) posts to post anywhere else.
Please ask me questions so I can respond to them.
Please?
PLEASE???
