Greetings,

I've been lurking these forums for a while now and was hoping some of you vets could help me pick out a new e-cig! I've only tried one (the xhale02 for 19.99 @ 7-11 stores) and I was hoping someone could suggest a product closer to my liking.

So basically here is whats important to me:

* A strong lung/throat feel. I have been smoking Marlboro reds my whole life and the e-cig I have right now feels lighter than an ultra light.

*Fairly priced. I really need keep the starter kit and maybe a case or 2 of carts under 100$ USD

*Easy to maintain.

*A very light "pull" (I think that's what it's called?). Basically I don't want to have to suck really hard just to get a good hit. The lighter I have to inhale the better.

I don't really care about battery life or flavor. Well I do, but that are not as important as the above.

Thank you very much for your knowledge and recommendations in advance!

Based on your requirements, I would strongly suggest a 5 volt mod. You just can't get better throat hit or more consistent throat hit than a 5 volt mod. If cost is important, I would suggest you check out Ken's Box Mods: Box Mods

And for ease of draw, I would suggest the 801 or BE112 atomizer. I've used approximately 12 different PV's and 5 different atomizer/cartomizers. These two options would seem to fit your requirements. Here is a site that summarizes various mods but they are not all 5 volt:

Best e-Cig Mod List | e-Cig Mods Database

Good Luck

Note: the eGo is a very good first PV. I recommended the 5 volt for the throat hit.

I'm sure someone knows a good site right in the 50$ range for the actual ego kits. Madvapes carries the knockoffs that still seem to get very good reviews for 40ish. Also take a look at the hello 016 it has twice the charge life of a reg ego battery in a similar device and is 36$ bucks for the carto kit (the carts are also famous for having the lighter draw your looking for it's actually adjustable). Propylene Glycol is one of the ingredients commonly found in ejuice it just gives that kick in your throat when your vaping (Higher Nic content seems to have this effect as well). Vegetable Glycerine is another ingredient that seems to make the vapor you see. Alot of the ejuice you will find is a mixture of both and it can take you a little bit to find the right ratio. With your budget you could also take a look at 5 volt passthroughs in order to sample 5v vaping before jumping into that level of cost. This is a device that plugs into your usb port or wall outlet to provide power rather than a battery.

OK
I think the biggest issue with mods for smokers is that smoking is far over 50% the "act" of smoking - in addition to satisfaction and addiction to nicotine. So while mods provide a much greater satisfaction in performance, it would not resolve anything for me personally in stopping smoking.

So the EGO provides somewhat of a mix of performance and still "resembles" the act of smoking, albeit much bigger than an analog.

For that reason, I view mods are for those addicted to vaping - not analogs.

For every one post like this I have read over the last two years, I've read about 10 from the same posters who state they wish they had gotten their mod sooner instead of later and they would have enjoyed vaping more. Another thing so many of us have learned over time is that we actually DON'T want people to think we smoke and enjoy the fact that with a mod there is no confusion about it. Plus vaping in a restaurant or sports bar is much easier with a mod, thank goodness. Everyone knows you aren't smoking, lol.

True. I drive with my EGO. The first time a cop sees me I am guessing he will be running my plates...lol. However, I still think I personally HAVE to have something that resembles smoking - to some degree. Evidence of this is the gum. I could chew nic gum until nic is flowing out my ears - AND I still wanted an analog.

Edit: And I likely will end up smoking 6-8 today, down from 1.5 to 2 pads a day. Not too bad. I was at 12 two days ago....

This is a good point, Buss. Maybe I should order white so ppl don't think I'm smokin smthg funny!

LOL. It would be rather odd looking white i think maybe. My suggestion is to have 2... I am still in the search for a sleek cool small one that actually works decent to go with my EGO. That model may not exist yet...
