Ok I'm sorry but I have to get this off my chest.

I don't have children of my own, but my nephew and I are very close, I can't have kids, and he's the closest I will ever have to a son - and I feel as protective of him as such.

I was born and raised in the United States of America. I never thought I would see the days we are going through now.

I do my best to keep an open mind, not to judge others, etc. but this has gone way too far.

If anyone thinks that they are going to off my Grandma because she's 84 and too much of a bother to take care of anymore, and indoctrinate my Nephew to believe that HE should serve his government like a good boy for some reason... well people have another thing coming.

Myself and my family pledge alegience to the FLAG.. and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands.. not the President.

We the people vote the President into office to serve US - not the other way around. Obama, every president before him, and every one to come after him is in office to serve the people. End of story.

I about spit my coffee when I heard a commercial on the radio. It was a bunch of actors promoting Obama by 'pledging their alegience to the president' and even specifically to Obama, pledging to how the can best *serve* Obama, the president, etc. --> Come on Kids - We are your cool Hollywood Heroes - This is the way to be!! WTF?! KISS MY ....!!

Ok I will get off of my soapbox - sorry for the rant.

Take care all and I really hope for the best for everyone no matter where you live in this world.

I am very happy to hear your children's school system is going that route. I think it should be the paren't choice in that matter and not the school system's. Fortunately my Nephew goes to private school so he is at least going to dodge that bullet.

I was also happy to hear that they have now changed what the paper the children have to write after the video is to be. Rather than about the video it is to be about their own personal futures, etc.

I don't understand why he can't just talk about that stuff to our kids. Why can't he just do some positive reinforcement announcement or something kind of like Bush Sr. did a don't do drugs I think it was back when for schools - it would really help my opinion of the guy if he would do something like that, or even just a 'be cool stay in school' type of thing rather than a friggin political message. *Sigh*

That annoying song mostly, oh and I'm not to into my kids seeing people say they serve the president when its the other way around.

I'm so tired of the race card being played if the man was green I wouldnt want them seeing something that suggests that the people serve the president.

WTF guy you have serious problems talking about kids legs being blown off, I think you need some help! Theres seriously something wrong with you!

Wow you need something more then nicotine...guy, Go back on the lithium or whatever head med you didnt take this morning.

We are talking about our children and the children in our lives being exposed to stuff that they are really to young to be listening to, I don't talk politics with my 5 year old and i don't want anyone else to either. It might be a whole different story if I had 17 18 year olds, but I don't I have little ones and I don't want their heads screwed with.

If you have kids send them if you wish if you don't then .... and go pee in someone elses pool.

To the first part of your statement - The race card is getting old. In fact it's been worn out and that record broke a long time ago. Get over it. He's black and so were half my neighbors growing up who are just as ...... at him as I am. Socialism? Yes I don't like that Idea I admit that freely. Hate Democrats? No I don't care what party you are - I care what you stand for and how you act while in office. Period. There are a ton of Republicans in office right now that I want OUT, and even more Democrats. Doesn't matter. Screwed up is screwed up.

The last part of your statement makes absolutely no sense ... Would I choose the proposed Healthcare plan, or sending my Nephew to Iran if I was forced to make a choice you mean? What the hell does that mean? That doesn't even make sense. That would be my Nephew's choice if he wants to serve in the military or not. I guess I'd just take the bullet and let him be free to decide?

As of right now... it is a choice whether or not to serve in our armed forces and if my Nephew wants to serve he can and I wouldn't stop him. If he doesn't then he can strive to be whatever he wants. I am proud of him either way.

What I don't want is for him to have to deal with being forced into any part of his life being decided *FOR* him. He should have the same rights I did growing up.

My Nephew should have the right to *CHOOSE* what kind of healthcare he wants, what career he wants, what kind of car he wants, what kind of life he wants, what kind of goals he wants to achieve, what to do when he gets there, to fail, get up, dust himself off and try again until he succeeds, to ask for help, to do it on his own, WHATEVER HE DECIDES - That is the whole point.

Your accusations of racial and political prefences are getting old, outdated, repetative, and irrelevant to what is happening. So what if he's black? Are you saying we should cut him more slack because he is black? Are YOU saying that just because he is black - we should not hold him to the same high standards of the office of President? That we should not treat him equally?

The argument works both ways now doesn't it?

Thank you, my wife and I both agree "she says, I like the way she thinks"

Are we not parents?
Isn't part of parenting, controling our childrens exposure to things we think may be harmful?

You sure about that, cause I didnt think I'd have one of my kids come home last year. Telling me how I had to vote for Obama and how his teacher and school said so... he could not tell me anything else other then a catchy song! So really you don't think they are gonna talk about how great Obama is if it is shown live? I've already seen it done before he was even elected! Am i saying Obama is gonna say anything directly to them.. No i didn't I said I didnt want them to be told by others how they want to serve the president.

Nor do I want "them" teachers principal whoever was filling his head with junk last year, telling him all that stuff again. Obama like all other presidents and people in power do things some like and some dont'.

The only thing I am saying is that little kids don't need to worry over this, they need to worry about learning their school work and doing homework. And thats just about all they need to be worrying over.
