Been using my new Provape-1 for a couple of weeks now, and I do not regret for one moment having purchased it: It's super well-built (It will no doubt last longer than I do); I love the feel of the weight and the action of the button, and I dig the simplicity of the design. With the Provape-1, I will always have a reliable mod at the ready as long as I don't lose it.

But... While I'm not bothered by the fact that the voltage is non variable, I'm beginning to see the point that there are drawbacks to the fact that it is non regulated. The batteries I purchased for it from Provape, when fully charged, seem to max out at an even 4.0 and then begin to drop rather precipitously to 3.7 or 3.6, by which time the vape is weakened to the point of being unsatisfactory. It's hard to tell, because I haven't really quantitatively monitored exactly how much I vape, but I seem to only get a couple of hours of really good vape before having to swap batteries again.

The vape is absolutely stellar while the battery is at peak, so no complaints there.

I think I get slightly longer and more consistent battery performance from my 650mAh Ego batteries, and definitely better life from the 900mAh Ego I have hanging around. Is this to be expected? And I did get the Provape-recommended AW 14500 High Performance Batteries instead of the cheaper Trustfires.

I can live with this, but is there a way to extend the high-quality vaping life of a single charge? I've been vaping both tanked cartos and Mini Vivi Novas with it, all in the 1.8-2.0 Ohm range.

After looking around at dozens of VV/VW mods ranging from $40-$120; the Lavatubes, Vamos et al being marketed under many different names, I've decided to purchase a Provari (probably in January) and continue to enjoy the Provape-1 as a change of pace and a backup. As much as I value simplicity, I really want a mod I can track and tweak in real time as needed for maintaining consistency throughout the battery cycle.

Lot's of vapers enjoy using fixed voltage mods as much as vv mods. I for one use a fixed voltage and a vv in rotation. Try using a low resistance (1.5 ohm) carto or learn to recoil your vivi at 1.5ohm, you may get better results on your provape-1 even if battery voltage is at it's end of charge. Of course getting a Provari would be a great choice. With a Provape-1 as a backup, it's double the reliability. :)

Regulated voltage was the way to go for me. Like you I love that first vape or two off a freshly charged battery. I bought my Provari for that sole reason and not once have I regretted the purchase. With the holidays being here I'd keep an eye on the classifieds, you can catch some pretty good deals on there if you act fast.

From what I've viewed in the classifieds, people usually want pretty close to full price for stuff. I'd be more inclined to buy something totally mechanical there. The Provari has circuitry, and if I'm only going to save $10 or $15, I'd probably rather get a new one that I know hasn't fallen into the toilet or something LOL...

Possibly the best feature of the Provari is it's Accuset processor, which allows the "what you set, you get" comment you see so often here from the Provari owners. From the beginning of a fresh battery until it's time to replace it, you will get the same voltage power that you set.

That Provape-1 will be a top notch backup for a new Provari. :D

not sure if you fit a kick in there.. but i no long use any of mech mods with out a kick.. it regulates voltage.. tells me when battery is low.. and gives me vw.. i use it in most of my boutique mech mods..

This is a good question, though I am not a "modder" in the sense that I'm not inclined get creative and in any way cleverly stretch or strain the intended use of the device. I'm not going to hot-rod something that might melt or blow up. So if there's not a kick that Provape has vetted and signed off on, I'm not interested.

I have the same issue with my Provape 1. Love the build, the warranty, and the vape when the batteries are fairly fresh. It does fade quickly when the batteries get low. I just swap the batteries out more often :). I also picked up a Innokin MVP which I really like. Great battery life, I like the pass through option at work, and really enjoying the vape. Seems very consistent.

I think they were talking about kicking the ProVape 1, not the ProVari.

Yeah ... lol. He bought a Provape, not a Provari ... hence the title of the thread. ;)

he is going to buy a provari,,he knows about VW mods but would rather have provari,,so no need for Vw talk

You can buy a kicklet, which screws ontop of virtually any 510 connected device and will allow you to have regulation and vw.

I'm wondering if Provape would have any issue with that. I can't see why they would. I might ask them actually. Although the combined price of the provape 1 and the kicklet could be a bit much (if buying both at once). Its said to be a good mod.

The OP complains about voltage drop in their unregulated PV, a couple of people offer a sensible solution, and this is wrong? Has this place gone mad? What are we here for?
