Just screw them up. Completely screw them the hell up.
I take a paperclip and use a pair of pliers to bend a small hook into it, then I simply stick it down into the Stardust and mess up the wicks as much as possible, push them every which way, up, down, all around, break up that braid.
Leave it so that the wicks are going every which direction, leave big gaps in it, leave it wiry and loose.
I find that this helps wicking a lot more than just simple "fluffing". My juice wouldn't get through that tight factory braid that was in the wicks prior to me messing with them. This also helps the juice stay up around the wicks because they aren't just pointed down, they're going everywhere and the juice has to get through more wick to get back to the bottom of the tube.
So, try it out, or don't. I don't care. I just know that it fixed one for me and it might help you as well.
