I think PG makes me ill

My all-day vaping liquid is from RMV (which I love!), but I have been nauseous every day for the better part of the last couple of weeks, have a really yucky taste in my mouth and also have noticed my skin drying out. I believe the liquids are mostly PG based (please correct me if I'm wrong) and think this may be the problem.

Can anyone recommend a good and inexpensive source for menthol liquid which is heavier in VG than than PG liquid I'm vaping now?

Thanks! :)

PG based liquid can cause a allergic reaction in some people. I would double check with your vendor to see if the juice you ordered was in fact PG. The nausea could be just from a Nic O.D. You might want to try and cut down the nic with a doubler or even some VG (you can get at Walmart). As for menthol....not a fan of menthol but alot of people seem to like the juice from Halo

I've tried Halo's...and while I like it, it seems thin...vapes far too fast.

As for too much nic... I was smoking 2+ packs of cigs a day and am now vaping probably about 3 mls of 24 mg a day. Do you really think that may be too much??? I don't get lightheaded or anything, just sick to my stomach.

***On my way to class...any more replies will be appreciated. :)

Vaping DOES have a tendency to dry out the membranes. Drinking more fluids will elimate THAT problem.

As for the nausea, sounds more like too much nic intake as opposed to a PG allergy. The 'yucky' mouth seems to happen with over vaping too. I've found the same thing on days when I'm 'surgically attached' to my Ego. Just give your teeth a good, thorough brushing and use mouth wash. (Your dentist will be happier too!)

I don't necessarily think you're allergic to PG, but just to make sure, the next time you place your order, see if your vendor offers a VG only mix for your flavor. If not, there are plenty of companies that DO.

But, for starters, I'd suggest just cutting back on your useage and see if that helps. What level of nic are you currently using?

I've often wondered about this. When I chain vape, I don't get light headed, either, even when I'm using 36mg. I do, hoever, get queasy. I'm wondering if the cigarette light-headedness is due to other chemicals in the smoke, but the nicotine itself doesn't do that, and so if you vape going for that dizzy/tingly feeling, you OD on nicotine without ever reaching that state. I don't remember ever feeling light-headed when I vape, no matter how much I do it, but I've been queasy quite a few times.

Whoops! You beat me to it! ;)

Keep in mind that you're now VAPING nicotine, not smoking it. Slightly different method of delivery. While 24mg isn't as high as you can go, there's only 2 mg strengths ABOVE it! Personally, I vape between 24mg and 36mg's and I WAS getting slightly nauseous some times. Not so much anymore though. You COULD try ordering a smaller, sample size of 18mg, (that way, if you feel you're NOT getting enough, you haven't made a significant investment!)

It's HARD to keep it out of your hand, especially considering how GOOD a flavor you LIKE is! So, sometimes it's better to have a lower mg for a liquid you like, that way, you can enjoy it without ingesting AS MUCH as you have been!

(For example, normally I vape at 36mg's, but when I ordered my Atomic Cinnacide from Tasty Vapor, knowing HOW good it is, I ordered the 24mg's so I can vape more often WITHOUT feeling nauseous.)

Hope this helps and don't give up! It's alllll worth it!

If you want to be absolutely sure it's a PG reaction try an all VG juice ( Alien Visions E-Juice ) is where I get mine. Most of the PG reactions I have experienced or read about have more to do with feeling like you are getting a cold, super dry mouth, scratchy throat, aching muscles, disorientation, anxiety, not so much nausea, but everyone is different. It could even be that you react to one of the added flavors in your juice. I would also agree that maybe you should try cutting back your nic level to see if that helps. It's no fun when you start to vape and it makes you feel bad. I went through a few weeks of unpleasantness until I figured out I was reacting to the PG. Now I vape only VG and have not noticed any ill effects, except for sometimes feeling stuffy in my nose, but I already feel that way most of the time (pollution/allergies) so it's not a real change for me.

Have you tried any other flavors to see if you are reacting to it the same way?

And, keep this in mind, remember alllll the times we got up in the morning, had a cigarette, (didn't have to be chaining on it either!), then had to go sit on the couch and stick your head between your knees, breathe through your mouth so you wouldn't hurl all over the floor? Yeah! Like that!!

THAT'S too much nicotine. Nausea. I didn't usually get a head-rush when that happened...just wanted to die.

THAT'S why I doubt it's an allergy, but err on the side of caution and do both. Cut down either your frequency or your nic level and order a VG juice.

Yes, the 510 has become almost permanently implanted in my mouth since I got it. And my toothbrush hates me now!

Luckily, I never had to do that! Lol! Always loved the morning cigarette...would have it in my mouth before I got all the way downstairs sometimes.

The flavor doesn't seem to matter...it's all of them.

Okay...so the general consensus is that it's too much nicotine. I needed to order more juice anyhow and my "regular" place was out of ALL of their Menthol...so, I placed an order with MadVapes (first ever and really looking forward to trying some of their juices!) an added a bottle of VG to it to dilute. That'll work, right?

I also plan (soon) on trying out an all VG juice just to satisfy my own curiosity and also to see if it really makes a difference on the skin drying out.

lol Wendy!

Well, I didn't ALWAYS get the ohhh, I'm gonna hurl feeling just in the morning, just every time I went on a chain-smoking session, but good to hear that never happened to you!! Did you smoke lights or something? Maybe that's it. I was a B&H 100's regular smoker.

Your toothbrush hates you now? Damn, mine loves me! I'm brushing 4 or 5 times a day now as opposed to twice! (Well, I guess from the toothbrush's perspective, maybe it DOES get a little annoyed..hmm..I'll have to have a chat with it..)

Hard to say whether or not you should be diluting your juice with VG without knowing what mg strength you were using before...if you were vaping at 36mg's, why not just order at 24mg's or something similar? However, if you were vaping at 11mg's and having problems, then sure, dilute it.

You can also order juice at your mg level in 100% VG from vendors.

Hope it helps! Gotta go have a talk with my toothbrush, I'd really be upset if he was mad at me.....;)

I smoked 3 packs of ultralight 120s so I decided 24mg would be right for me (plus one cartful of 36mg to wake me up in the morning.) That was fine in the very beginning when I still had to remind myself to pick up my PV when I had a craving. Once I got used to reaching for my PV automatically, I vaped more. A couple of weeks ago I got very queasy and realized that I was ODing on nicotine. I put my PV down for about an hour and started cutting almost all my liquids down to under 20mg (working my way down to 12-16mg.) I haven't been nauseated since.

As for staying hydrated, anything that doesn't have caffeine or alcohol counts -- water, milk, lemonade, juice. I drink a lot of caffeine-free soda.

I agree with the previous posters that the 24mg. is probably too high for you. Heck, I can't tolerate anything over 12mg. and even that is getting to be too much for me. I've noticed the same nausea/irritability with the higher nic concentrations and when I've reduced the nic level, these symptoms went away. If you had a true allergic reaction to PG, you'd be getting rashes, hives or other allergic symptoms, which you don't seem to have.
