I had the same poblem last night. I was on it when every thread that I clicked on took us to another site. We managed to start a few new threads which were locked soon after starting them. The world can do without these idiots. They must be lacking in social skills & suffering from boredom to do something such as hacking forums which do them no harm. UKV won't be up again till later today or perhaps tomorrow http://ukvapers.com/index.php
I hope that everyone that was redirected to another site when clicking on any threads in UKV, have rune AV & Malware scans?

I did manage to start one last thread on UKV before it went down & did mention about the nasties crawling into our PCs. Someone actually posted a comment saying that it was not possible for anything to crawl into your PC from a website LMAO.
I was very fast to break the link, the back button, as expected was not the way out. I run my scans last night. Several others may have, other than those who think it is not possible.

BTW, as well as here on ECF, all UKV refugees are very welcome to use AAE-C UK, even if they only want to do so until UKV is back up

many thanks for the link. I will pop in & see whats happening. I only joined ECF last night & in view of what happened to UKV I was very concerned about putting too many details into the profile info. If you register your full name, D.O.B, email,address, ect & the hackers get in then they download all the members info. It would not surprise me if people use the same password on their paypal a/c ect (I don't). So if they took all the member info from UKV they have your email addy & the password you use for UKV. So I can picture them going through every email on paypal & inputting the password that was used to access UKV. Very wise to use a different password for banks ect.

it has over 3000 members so I am sure to recognise a few. Not too much in the mod section. I was looking to see if they had a mod makers group. But can't expect it to be as big as ECF or UKV. It does however have a mixing section so I will be having a look in that later. Just checked & UKV is still down soits begining to look like tomorrow. Just hope that any of the members who use the same password for banking or paypal as they used on UKV have already changed it. Having said that, if the original intention was fraud then they wouldn't have caused the problems which caused the site to close.
if only we knew the hackers identity. Many of us would like to hear why this person or persons did it. "In person ofcourse"
Bad news about UKV, I hope they get it cleaned up soon. It's a major PITA when that happens.
