Hi, I registered in the forum since I found it very interesting.

I actually landed here on a link from another site. I had no idea a few hours ago that there was something like e-cigs invented. Since when? 2008?

I always thought that I would quit smoking when there was something similar that worked with smoke. It was just a dream. I never imagined there was one. No, I dont have excuses anymore. They exists.:p

When i saw the e-cigs on a store i thought they where some type of new scam. When I readed it had vapor as smoke i went crazy and started to google. I thought this is probably new and doesnt work to well yet, but something is something. I thought only 1 china company was making them to make quick and fast bucks out of people that tried to stop smoking.

It seems i was wrong. I saw some videos and the smoke wasnt that good neither. Then on youtube I saw some really good smokes with e-cigs so i thought Im going to get one and test it myself. But which one?

Im not in the US but I order tons of things from the US since I work with a company they just drop ship the things from me with airplane once a week. I mainly buy from amazon. I buy allot from there. Just last week I bought some new parts for my computers, mouse, etc.

I searched for amazon and they had e-cigs as well. I started to look at comments and they where not that good, problems with batterires, vaporizers, etc.

Thanks to a reviewer that said a product sucked but now he found the good -e-cig thanks to this forum and he linked back on his comment.

So a few hours later, after videos, reviews, product stores here I am.

This is a very big community and it seems there are plenty of e-cigs for everybody and to fit each model. It also seems they are getting quite popular.

Im not really an analog junkie (new term i learned today along with e-cigs ;))

But I like to smoke. I could smoke 2 packs a day and then never touch a cigarrete for 2 or 3 weeks. Sometimes I smoked allot and some for days not a stick. I smoke for over 10 years like this. When i drink a beer I absolutely must smoke. 8-o

Lately I was a little stressed because of work and I bought a pack and the coughing and heaches came back with cigarrettes as well.

When I saw today this new e-cigs I know I have to get them. My birthday is in a few days and i dont have allot of money but i will get one.

I think most people cant drop smoking because just like me its a mental drug as well. I like to puff something and i feel relaxed with it. I also like the white smoke.

So i think e-cigs will not take me away from that pleasure. They have smoke to play with and they also have nicotine, not that I need it (well maybe yes) but they also feel and look like a real cigarrette which is important for me to trick my head and they even state something.

My problems is since the products will get shipped to me outside the US i cannot test and return things like some reviewers i saw in amazon. If i buy one, and the batteries die, im stuck 4 weeks without puffing until i buy a new one on the internet and it arrives. Same if the product doesnt work I cannot return anything, it costs me allot to ship things back and thats another 4 weeks. I like amazon since they never made me problems with my visa or mastercard and they ship me everything inside the US. I also have Paypal. But i cannot order 1 units things so i prefer to be prepared and order in one time the things i will need.

I think i should get the Red Dragon. I saw the reviews here and they are good. They also say it has good amount of smoke which is what I need. Since it also seems to be with 2 parts only and the cartridge comes with the evaporizer already it would be good choice for me since then at least i dont have that problem of that specific part in case it fails.

I know its little more expensive but people here say you can refill it. And for battery, im 24/7 at my office and laptop so short battery will not be a problem.

I just need something good to start which works. And that on the long run will give me a nice experience with flavors. I did not knew you could choose your taste which I like even more.

Well i feel like a 10 year old with this. Im excited since I can finally quit the cancer sticks without actually quitting smoking.

But I also appreciate it if this is a good buying decision. Some say you dont get a hit with it. Not sure what they mean but others say you can if you puff slowly in bried periods. Im not looking for something that feels like a cigarrete regarding puffin and smoke. I can adjust myself to it, not a problem, it doesnt have to exactly the same. Im open to new things, but at least I dont want to know Im putting a little computer in my mouth, it would feel unnatural since real cigarrettes are from paper and this would be I think plastic. I dont want people to look at me like im an idiot, it should look like a normal cigarrete.

Hi nibb,

In my opinion an ideal starter ecig is the Intellicig Evo. It's very easy to use, batteries last about 8 hrs (the Genie ones - Mighty Atoms less as they are smaller), and in my experience you get excellent customer support from John at the UK site. They're also relatively inexpensive ao if you don't like it not too much cash has been wasted. They also look very cigarette-like, which I note matters to you. Whatever you decide - good luck! :)

Thanks allot but its best to buy it from a US store since I ship them to Miami and it costs me less.

My budget is 40$ for cigarrete only and 70$ if its kit with addons.

I see Red Dragon is below 50$ without addons.

I could go over but I really dont want to spend more then 50$ if possible.

Yes looks matter, but looks alone is useless without feel. Since its shipped via plane to my home in South America i also prefer something that will last at least 1 year regarding quality, not a plastic thing that breaks when dropped.

I really think you should get one in your hands and try it first before you buy!
It does look and feel almost like smoke, but there is a thickness its missing...Its not 100% the same as what we know and love from a cigarette. They have disposable kits- maybe get one of those super cheap and make sure you want to invest in the big kits and parts?
Not one of the reviews I have read regarding any model ecig seem to be perfection yet. Expect problems, plan for them, and hope you don't encounter them.
)
Good luck...update on what you decide! )and then when you get it!(

ECF: Raise you hand if you have spent less than $70 bucks?

I've heard good things about the Pilot, which is similar to the Evo in many ways and is readily obtainable in the US. That might be worth a look for you. I'd also revise your start-up budget. You will need spare parts, juice and carts. None of this comes for free, I'm afraid - and not starting out with enough gear is likely to cause frustration.

Ok. I can go to 100$ for start. I doesnt meant I will not spend more eventually. I know me and i probably have 10 e-cigs models by the end of this year, since when i start to like something im easy get to try other things.

On my country real 20 cigarrettes costs only 1$ so this is not going to be a cheap alternative but ratter an expensive health replacement.

Its just for starting fast to stop smoking real cigarrettes.

Yes I imagine the thickness is missing since its only vapor. But has it taste at least? Does it calm you like the real thing?

I cannot test it since i dont know anyone that has one. I dont think there is a single person in south america that has one. So I will buy it and test it myself.

I really dont have another alternative so I better like it.

I was going to buy it today. But Im awake all night with this. So when i wake up I will check the stores to buy it. So I ca review it in the next 15 days or so when I have it.

How about greensmoke?

Hi Nibb,

I pretty new to vaping myself, but I would love to share my experience.

I was typically a 1 pack a day smoker for the past 19 years. I just switched to vaping about 3 days ago and I haven't touched an "analog" since (real cigarette). From what I've gathered, it really depends on the length of time you've been a smoker and how many analogs you smoke a day on average. The worst case I've seen is my friend that introduced me to vaping used to smoke 3 packs a day of a rather popular brand of analogs. When he made the switch, he found and also warned me about possible cravings for analogs for about 2 weeks, but once his 2 weeks past, he's been analog free now over 3 months.

The vape quality I imagine is based on the model of e.cig bought. From my personal experience, the new TITAN, which is available at Totally Wicked produces the best vapor of ones I've seen, but also I've been told it's really more of an expert model. If seen and read fabulous reviews on the EVO from Intellicig as well (ordering one myself on Friday). I hope this helps, and being new myself, I hope I'm not overstepping my role as a newbie. :)

I started 3 weeks ago with an M402 from absolutelyecigs.com

Got a starter kit and a couple packs of carts, I like it and ordered another starter kit and sample juice pack with some empty carts.

As a 35 year smoker I've been as high as 2 packs a day, 1 pack a day for the last few years, I do believe I'll be a zero pack a day after this week.

It's not the same as a cigarette, but my lungs feel clearer after a couple weeks already. But $120 so far total, less than a month of what I spend for cigs at $6 a pack, and I have enough ecig material to last for over 2 months, or maybe much more.

The Joye510/Yeti/Dura-C/Titan - The BEST stock off the shelf PV money can buy and even comes with 2 atomizers and around $50.00 buy an extra bottle of juice to refill as needed but you will not be dissapointed with this model... Link to helpfull information regarding this model - Joye 510 - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

I second this advice. Regular e-cig form factor with the powerful hit that comes with a manual battery is just superb.

Hello, Nib, I started vaping on April 1. I read this forum for a week, sometimes for eight hours a day. I bought the EVO black from Electronic Cigarettes, Electric Cigarette, E-Cigarettes, E-Cig, E-Liquid in the UK after reading great things about it. I have never been sorry and I'm not going to switch. But, do not get confused with Intellicigs.com, The intelligent smoking alternative. - notice the "S" at the end. Lots of people have been cheated by them. Then I learned about juice on this forum and found excellent reports about Totally Wicked and ordered from them. Great stuff and great service with loads of great-tasting flavors. I did a lot of studying at this forum and have not smoked a real cigarette since discovering e-cigs. I didn't like spending the extra money either since I live near an American Indian reservation and can buy cartons of real cigarettes for just $17, but now I don't smoke cancer sticks. It's worth it to start out with a good product to avoid frustration...especially if you're planning on not smoking tobacco ever. Good luck.

Ok I will look into the EVO and others.

My head spins a little since some here say there are brands which are actually the same thing (they must come from the same factory)

I will buy my first e-cig today, in some hours, so recommendations are very helpfull.

Let me point out what I look:
1. Smoke. I want it to have smoke, it its produces to much smoke on expenses of $$$ then no. I suppose a balance between refills and smoke. Like I said batteries are not a problem. Im not a heavy smoker anyway. But then comes a question. Do the batteries run out even when you dont smoke? Or it depends on puffs?

2. Flexible. Since i have to ship them overseas, and they will costs me like 3 times the price of real things. I would prefer something which can b hacked. Like some here said, be refilled and stuff.

3. I dont like it to much the ones that have the atomizer as individual since, well that makes costs cheaps but I have to wait 15 days for a new one. I just imagine breaking this when I need them at most and going back to real cancer sticks. Like I said i have to plan something easy to buy and worry free since the time I place my order online I takes 15 or more days until I have them here. So there is no night rush order for me or going to local store.

4. Quality. I said I would like somethin cheap but Im getting a second thought now. I want something that will be my friend and will have a good quality with it and looks real. I prefer something made in europe or US but not china. I just prefer to pay a bit more but have something made with quality. I fully believe in the term "you get what you pay for"

5. I will buy it today online. So please when suggesting link to stores.

I saw a video review here about a pipe, so that will be my second buy. But now i need something for daily use at office, for my birthday so it would be, cheap to refill, quality, good amount of smoke, hit if possible but is not a must be, it think that depends on liquid right.

I bought my first e-cigarette from e-bay, it was a cheap version ( disposable i think ) only lasted about 1 week and did not work very well.

Last month i purchase a quality e-cigarette with disposable atomizer cartridges from eCigUSA . net , i have researched a lot and found that this model is the best i have seen, it has an easy draw and great vapor. this company has really changed the way i feel about e-cigarettes, SMOKE FREE FOR OVER 45 DAYS !!! i started with the 16 mg cartridges, ( they are a bit strong and harsh, then 12 mg and now i am at he 6mg cartridges, ( the 6mg cartridges have more flavor and produce more visible smoke and very smooth )

Ok but whats the difference between

Red Dragon
GreenSmoke

And the ones you said?

I have read they are all the same, true or not?

Evo, Titan..

I mean. They look all the same to me. And I dont have a clue how they perform. I will check the ecigs you mention.

Hi Nibb,

Not all ecigs are the same, even though some may look similar. People have made their recommendations to you based on experience of using certain models. Now it is up to you - by using the search feature on this site you will find much information to help you make an informed decision. Good luck!

I think a good way to start with 100$ budget:
ruyandirect dot com

dse901 starter kit 29.00$
2x atomizer for 901 6$ each=12$
4x30ml of juice 9,50$ each= 38$

Shipping about 15-20$us

That should set you with about 2-3 months of supplys, will take less than 2 weeks to get to the us. With 4 bottle of different juice you can taste 4 flavours. Just keep your fingers crossed that both batteries and charger will keep up for 3 months of heavy usage...If you're a bit handy with a soldering iron when one of the batteries goes dead just do a diy usb passthrought with it and you'll continue vaping...

What does everybody thing of my budget :D :D ???

That sounds nice but i like something which doesnt have the atomizer as extra but build in. More easy to handle and things to worry about. Since atomizer seems to last only 200-500 puffs its a matter of time before they die.

Also doesnt the starter kit come with 4-5 cartri?

3 months is good to go, but how many times can you fill this things before they completely die? 3 weeks per cartr?
