My problem is that I cannot find that one juice that just satisfies me completely, so I figure if I mix my own, I can come up with what works best for me, and I can be upset with nobody but myself if it sucks. I've tried so many liquids from so many suppliers, and nothing quite cuts it anymore. Somebody recently turned me onto Rawr liquids after I complained about juices tasting like perfume. I ordered 6 bottles, and the sent me a 7th sample sized bottle. But I found that instead of tasting like perfume, these taste like soap, and dry out my mouth.

SOOOOO, to get to the point, what are some good vendors for supplies (PG/VG, nicotine, flavors)? And when I say flavors, I want real, natural tasting, FLAVORS, not fragrances or what have you. Anybody know some vendors with good, preferably natural flavors?

I haven't been around long but can say I'm a DIY kinda guy and when i do something i put a lot of research into it to get a understanding of how things work then i dive in.

after reading for a week here on the forums i went with wizard labs for my PG, VG and nic and TFA for my flavors, taste as you know is very subjective so with that said all i can say is it works for me.

I will say this, I am a firm believer of steeping and love the fact that i can make to my taste and not rely on others. not to mention the $$ saved by DIY.

Good luck to you.

i just started diy myself and vape 12mg. got some nic base in 24mg 25vg/75pg. also got a bottle of pg to cut it with to make it 12mg. tastes pretty good on its own. also got 3 flavors(licorice, cinnamon, and root beer, vaped them premixed and liked them) havent put them into my mix yet, as i only had 1 empty bottle at the time. shop at my freedom smokes. with what i bought, i can make my juice for about $1 per 10ml bottle instead of paying $5 per 10ml for premix :). spent about $25 for over 250mls.(around 10cents per ml) :)

I don't like to buy juices and just let them sit for a week before I use them though. I did find one method that worked pretty well for me. To get rid of the perfume taste in a bottle of electronicstix blueberry frost, I squeezed all of the air out of the bottle and put the cap back on to keep air out. Then I let it sit in a glass of hot water for an hour or two, and the perfume taste was gone. That worked quite well, but when I want to vape, I just want to fill my tank and go.

I've been looking into LorAnn flavorings, as it seems to be a favorite to many, but what is TFA?

Personally, I like the new super concentrated flavorings from vapingzone and ecigexpress. Very easy to work with. My nic comes from wizardlabs.us and the pg/vg by the gallon from essentialdepot.com ($52.99 shipped for a gallon each..look in their specials category). I use more pg than vg so even if I run low, my local feed store carries USP pg in the cattle section.

I also like some TPA flavorings, flavor west, capella, and flavourart...ecigexpress carries all of these also.

I like you went with wizard labs too. I got several flavors and love them all. The virginia tobacco is just wonderful as all of them. I mix mine up to ne 10 mg nic and 70VG/30PG lots of vapor and flavor. !

TFA is The Flavor Apprentice. Also know as TPA The Perfume Apprentice. Don't be discouraged by the word perfume though. I've been having pretty good luck with their flavors tasting good.

I buy my nicotine, PG, VG, and mixing supplies from Wizard Labs now. And I buy my flavorings from TFA. I do use a couple Lorann flavorings though, such as Watermelon. The problem with Lorann's, is that they add coloring to their liquids, because they're typically used in hard candies that also have an appearance factor. I prefer my flavors to be as colorless as possible. Just a personal preference.

The important thing to doing DIY, is patience. Not every flavor is going to be awesome the first time. In fact, most flavors won't be great the first time. I usually try flavors in a PG/VG mix without nicotine, until I can get the flavor in the ballpark of what I consider good. Once I do that, then I'll start mixing batches with nicotine and fine tuning the flavor with each batch.

And, as I said in another thread last night... Document, document, document. It sucks making something that tastes and vapes awesome, but you can't remember how you mixed it. I take notes as I'm mixing, and then I take notes after trying it. That way I can decide what to adjust on the next batch.

Have fun with it. There's a sense of pride when you're vaping a flavor that you made, and that no one else can get unless you make it for them.

I buy all my DIY supplies from High Desert Ecigs - Age Verification, great selection, prices and service. They carry TPA, Capellas and FW, and are constantly expanding their inventory. I believe he is adding a line from natures flavors soon. I cant stand perfumey/ flowery tones and have had very good luck with TPA flavors.

I just want to be able to vape something that is as good of quality as Johnson Creek juices. I would continue to buy their liquids if it weren't for the fact that they have such a limited selection, and almost all of their juices have some sort of 'smokey' flavor. Sometimes I want sweeter flavors than they carry. If somebody could tell me with some certainty that I could mix a sweet flavor with products from Wizard Labs and TFA that tastes as flavorful and pure as Johnson Creek juices, I would definitely make a purchase right away.

I guess the natural next question is, once I do get supplies, how exactly do I mix them? Say I want 30/70 PG/VG mix with 18mg nicotine. How would I achieve this?

+1 on everthing hairball said on supplies.

Look in the stickies at the top of this sub-forum. The thread "Guide to DIY Flavoring" will give you a lot of info on mixing, and the thread "Ejuice calculator (added quantity calculations)" has an MS Excel based calculator for mixing. Just plug in the percentages you want to use and it will give you the the amount of milliliters of each ingredient to mix. You can also google "breaktru calculator" for a good standalone ejuice mixing calculator.

DEFINITELY, ABSITIVELY, POSALOUTELY read the sticky Guide to diy flavoring... ALL of that thread. I know its time consuming but the knowledge in it is astounding.

I personally dont like johnsons creek juice. All the tobacco ones Ive tried taste like they were made by bottling stale farts. For new diy to keep it simple and build confidence getting comfortable with diy the vaping zone alcohol flavors are a best bet. Its easy peezy 2.5% flavoring to make a juice. For the bolder, and more comfortable do TPA or Capellas. I started on TPA flavors and seedmans tobaccos, love wizardlabs, and cant recommend them enough.

Also, dont dive into buying all your flavors from one place. I have bought so many flavorings that just arent what I was hoping for. You will find favorites from different companies depending on the flavor and the taste you are looking for. It can add up quickly and get frustrating. For a beginner, I recommend Loranns. You have to use a little more of theirs sometimes but its easy to fix a recipe/juice that used Loranns and most of their flavorings are decent. Honestly i only use 3or 4 of their flavors now but thats because I found others -- just saying if in doubt and just beginning, they are easy to work with and easy to find. As far as nicotine - RTS vapes is a very reliable company with great prices too. Ecig express also has great prices on alot of DIY stuff you will need. Good luck and like others said, research resesarch research - it will make a big difference in your success!!! =)
