I want to give away to the needy. I cant seem to find out where to do this. I am not selling, I am buying, for them. How do I find out who needs and who doesnt. Please fill me in, if there is a list of people that are down and out and need help to vape, and not people looking to just save money by pretending to be needy, that would help. Please dont reply with me me me me me me me me. You want to do the right thing for those that desperately want to quit I can help maybe 3 people with a starter kit from a seller of my choosing. If they dont need a starter kit then some elquid and blank cartos. I am not rich, and I have no job, but I do have a heart. I know what its like to be stuck between a rock and a hard place. I am going away on Sat. for 7 days. I dont know what this Pay it forward thing is here, but where I am from if you want to do a pay it forward, you give something away and expect the receiver to do the same for someone else someday. So this is me doing a Pay It Forward. So, Pay It Forward.

Thanks

Cartomeister.

That is a big question. I've given an e-cig to someone on ECF who wanted to help a friend. Whether that is the case or not, I'll most likely will never know because I've never heard from said person again.
Still I didn't mind---not if there was a small chance to help.
Right now I'm just trying to convert the people I know and do a little give and take on PIF.
Basilray's idea of getting hold of jules is a good one.
I might try that in the future myself when I get enough donated parts to make a mod.

I'm wit Basilray on this one, I think the mods watch the board well and know who needs the most....that'd be my suggestion talk to Jules. You could always send her 3 and she could give them out on an as needed basis, as opposed to knowing right now of 3 people desperately needing one.:2c:

Edit to add: super nice gesture on your part BTW

You have definitely got the spirit of Pay It Forward down. It originated as just a thread where you would take an offer someone put up for 'free' and then post your own 'free' offer, and the cycle would continue. It grew pretty fast and now here we are, a whole big-hearted community. A lot of us don't even use the PIF thread anymore. I hop in there when it stalls or I get a bit needy on juice, but for the most part I just keep an eye on wants/needs.

You've definitely came here and jumped right into the epitome of what we stand for, and I am happy to have you here. As for people in need, keep an eye on the wants/needs thread, check the new members forum, and ask Jules.

Good luck, and thanks for being a cool person ;)

I am fairly new to the forum, I dont know how to get in touch with Jules, could one of you give me the link to her page? I would like to let her know what I am going to do. Or maybe one of you could have her read my post and she can PM me. I really dont know how to use a forum, so leaving me to find her might take longer. I am going away on Saturday till the 4th. Back on the 4th I mean. But at which time I can take care of my promise to the PIF Group. Cignot is a pretty low priced solution to my promise of the PIF. $40 for a joye 510 kit x 2 or 3 I could pull off in one week. I dont like 510s but if it helps, then thats what I would do, after the 4th. Thanks everyone.

I saw a post not long ago from someone that helps battered women by giving them food and shelter. He was looking for donations of ecigs because he had about 8 women in his shelter that smoked. Not sure where I saw the post though.

I have watched the PIF threads and really some of it just looks like folks trading back and forth instead of helping those in need. JMHO

Hey Cartomeister, Jules is here:

E-Cigarette Forum - View Profile: Jules22871

...And she is a fabulous and kind-hearted person, just as you appear to be.

I just wanted to let you know how awesome you are for offering this. The generosity of this place is really inspiring.

I'm doing ok for vaping stuff now, but when I've been in need people have always been right there, sometimes without me even asking, ready to give me way more than what I even needed to help me continue vaping.

I'm tried to pay it forward as much as I can through PIF, and a little give-away I did the other day (nowhere near as generous as yours though, I wish I had that ability). But I don't know if I can ever fully pay back what it means to me to have people help me keep away from the cigs when I thought I was going to have to abandon vaping due to lack of funding.

This is an incredible place, and you're an incredible person!

Hey Salem! I think that sometimes that's true... Did I NEED a 901 atty? Did I NEED more juice? No.

But maybe the person who took my PIF did NEED those things.

And that's kind of the point. PIF is a place where you can try new stuff without having to buy it, and it's also a place where you can find stuff you really do need.

The "Wants and Needs" thread is a more classic example of that. I see people post up Needs there, and I help if I can, but someone is always there in short order to help out.

As an aside, I've been seeing you around lately helping out newbies like a champ! Nice to see you've gotten it sorted for yourself and are getting involved. :)

Welcome to PIF! It's always great to have new members :)

This group is about sharing and giving, helping each other out. Sometimes that is in the form of ecigs, juice, equipment, encouragement, and often just support of each other. Offering a helping hand, or a shoulder to lean on. It's complex.

It's true, sometimes the actual PIF thread (where we originated) seems like a general trading thread, and it can be. Yes, I participate. Do I need the juice I take? Or the "PIF offer" I take.. probably not. Personally, I don't like the vendor juices. But I definately DID need it at one time, when I first started here. So why do I participate now? To add things to the newer members posts, to perhaps move the thread along, keep it going, so to speak. Or maybe to pick up something that I know someone else would like, or maybe I would like to just try something I see.

It doesn't really matter why. I try and give back more than I take. Doesn't always happen, but I think, for the most part, we (our group as a whole) do try and "pay it forward" when we can. I think we are an honest and giving group, and I love to see the new members grow into the old :)

If I am really looking to help someone, I keep my eye on the "Wants and Needs" thread. There you will find the people that need something; to hold off till payday, because a dentist bill came due, because they had things stolen. Often people will post a separate thread, stating exactly why or for what they need.

Will you really know if they are honest, and telling the truth? No. You won't. Even if they have been a member for a while, you will never really know (unless you can drive over to their house and see them face to face... even then, we never really know another's situation unless we walk a mile in their shoes)

So, what do you do? It's purely a leap of faith. Sometimes you will be taken advantage of.. odds are, it will happen. But in order to survive and thrive you have to take that leap. Believe in humanity, and trust that karma works, the good will get the help they deserve... for if we don't do that, then we are not only denying those that truly need our help, but we are denying ourselves as well.

[/soapbox] Ok, sermon over  Welcome again, and as all these great people have said.. contact Jules.. she'll point you in the best direction!
