I haven't used either, but if you're going to go with a V4L kit the Gripper or the OMG VV would be better if you can afford it. V4L is pretty over-priced in my opinion, but they're also one of the few vendors offering VV and mods for 808s.

That is a great deal on the I-Turbo, but I haven't been impressed by the CE4. For $14.00 more than the I-Turbo kit you could get 2 Revolver kits from Nhaler and have VV.

Tough call. :D

The only problem with the I-Turbo batteries is they don't have cone threads, so you'd have to make sure any clearomizers/cartomizers you buy in the future are designed to work with the Echo battery. I prefer the vGo batteries because anything 808 threaded will fit them just fine, skirt or not.

i don't understand. the threads on the i-turbo bat look the same as my other 808 slim bats (litecigUSA, V2, Magicmist, etc), and the clearomizer looks the same as the V2 liqamax's and Klanger M3's ive used before. i dont understand the compatibility issue.

There are two types of 808 big batteries, the Echo and the vGo. They're both roughly the same diameter, or so I've been told. The Echo batteries have a flat base under the battery threads, while the vGo batteries have a second set of threads under the 808 threading just like the eGo. Cartos or clearos designed to work on the Echo batteries have a flat base where the 808 threading is, while those designed to work with the vGo batteries have a "skirt" to cover the cone threads. If you have an Echo battery you need to make sure any cartomizers or clearomizers don't have a skirt or else you can't use them without an adapter. With a vGo, any 808 threaded carto or clearo will work fine, whether it has a skirt or not.

Thankfully, most items will at least be labelled Echo but it's best to make sure to confirm that before buying. Also, Echo-sized cartomizers and clearomizers hold a little more juice, because they don't have to cut out the bottom portion for the skirt.

And after looking at it some more, the standard OMG mod is crap. It doesn't even have an on/off feature, so you'd have to disassemble it if you pack it up for travelling or you'll kill your battery.

If you really want a big battery for 808's get the I-Turbo kit, a Volt X2 from Smokeless Image or the Revolver iGo kit from NHaler. The I-Turbo kit really is an excellent price for what you're getting, and both Cigeasy and NHaler sell additional Echo equipment. $42.00 for 2 1300 mAh batteries and 2 CE5's is awesome. The X2 is $20.00 for just 1 650 mAh battery, but I still recommend them because I love mine so much. The X2 is also a pass-thru, which means you can vape on it while it is charging. And the Revolver kit is $28.00 for a 650 mAh or $32.00 for a 1300 mAh VV battery and a CE5.

I've also heard great things about the Echo kits from Cigeasy, but they're also pricey as hell due to re-branding.

They're all good options. The only thing I would even look at from V4L is the VV mods. For the price they're asking for the standard OMG mod you could buy a 905 Screwdriver and some clearomizers. At least the 905 has an on/off feature and that thing is 3 years old.

thanks johnnie, so the echo (i-turbo) is more like a standard 808 slim bat i would get from V2, litecigUSA, etc, just bigger. the vGo will give me some more options because of the extra threads. i might go with the i-turbo because i think my current 808 gear will work with the kit.

currently im using 808 bat's from LitecigUSA and the V2 LiquiMax clearo's.

I will second the igo revolver kit from nhaler. I don't care for the clearo, and they have ego threading. A lot of things are now being produced with ego threading only. It will only give you more options. If you don't want the variable voltage feature, then I'd suggest an x2 from smokeless image. Best customer service and product quality from any 808 vendor out there.

If you are interested in checking out that I-turbo kit, look at them from Mtn Vapor Mountain Vapor Starter Kits the ones labled "turbo" kits are the ce4 type clearomizers on an echo battery and the ones labled "echo" kits utilize the 3+ ml cartomizers. They are the same battery, just different hardware attached in the kits. They only have dual coil cartomizers in the kits though. Not a fan but you can throw a couple singles in the order or ask.

Northwest vapors also sells the echo kits The Echo Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit - $44.95

And Cropduster 901 http://www.cropduster901.com/store/...Path=4&zenid=11d7122cbbb61264a8b144a676eb787d

edit: oh yeah, and VaporGirl. Can't forget her 808 KITS

There are others but they are generally more expensive. You are right that they are exactly like the slims you are using now but bigger,
Also, because most moved on to push button batteries at a time when autos, well, sucked there is an old bias that stays strong on this forum and it's not a very popular style battery so there is not alot of hardware for it. If you like the pv you have now and just want the option to use it all day and not worry about a refill or a charge, the echo is it and is the best there is.

If you are looking to experiment, cone thread batteries and push buttons offer a great opportunity to miz and match hardware and batteries down the line.
