Right now I am using SI volt batteries. I have 3, and while I love this setup for the novelty of it being a "cig-a-like ;" I am a very heavy vaper. I am considering an ego style kit, and purchasing an ego twist type battery. But at the same time I want to skip the middle ground, and just buy myself a Provari. I know some people say skip it, get a reo. But right now mech mods don't really interest me that much.

I was think the Provari as well but then my wallet would not allow it LOL. HOWEVER There is the EGO Evic. I love this thing. Its solid on its delivery. Has a screen that tells you the VW, WW, when the Atomizer has made connection with the terminal, basically everything the Provari does. I am using the 2600mAh battery and it last me 3-4 days before I need a charge. While its charging I have a EGO-C 1000mAh battery I use.

As for tanks. I am using the EGO Kanger EVOD. AWESOME. These combined with the Evic delivers awesome Vapor and Awesome taste. The EVOD does its best with 50/50 Juice. Changeable Atomizer. I am using both a 1.8ohms and/or 2.4.

I paid $104.00 for my Evic and at my local B&M and at FastTech - Gadgets and Electronics they have EVOD bundles 5 for something like 12.00, 7 for 15.00 and 15 for something like 24.00. Their Atomizer bundles are 5 for 4.99. Now there is a 8-10 day delivery because it comes from Hong Kong but they have free shipping. I am waiting on 8 EVODs and a pack of Atomizers from them now...

My Evic was hard to get use to at first but I think I got it whooped now. And the Evic is updateable as well.

If you can easily afford $200+ for a Provari, you will not likely be disappointed in your purchase. The least expensive Provari is $140 in the clearance section. Add a charger and batteries and you'll be up there in the $200 range.

You'll also need juice delivery devices, because the Provari is 510 threaded. Your Smokeless Image gear is incompatible with an 808 thread.

I'm sure folks will say get a less expensive APV for your first mod, and they may have a valid point. But if you do your research right, you'll find that the Provari is a wise choice for the long term vapor.

The ego vv batteries didnt last me long enough so I ended up with a Sigelei Zmax before I was happy. Itl get you VV and VW without the money of a Provari. I could never quite pull the string on those. Just another opinion.

I'd agree with retic - if you can't spend Provari money, go for an SVD or VAMO.
You can get one of those, and EXCELLENT batteries and charger (that you'd keep for a future Provari) for like $60, if you go to FastTech and wait a week.

I'd say drop $20 to get a ProTank, too, or maybe get a T3 or a couple EVOD's. Just watch out for those on FastTech - they sell fake ones (if it doesn't say KANGER, then it isn't!), and I personally don't recommend those...

Right, I already plan on buying a kanger and some other 510 gear. Evods and the like, until I find something that really shines for me. I have been doing a ton of research, and the provari seems like a solid choice for me for what I want it to do. Plus the warranty, and customer service from provape. But at the same time, like others said "you can get a vamo or zmax for cheaper." Someone had mentioned to me that I should try a cheaper mod to see if I like it enough, then get a provari if its really for me. But something I am worried about is the size of the device. I don't want to lug this giant tube around when I'm out and about with my friends. I think my wallet can pay for a provari, If I limit my spending elsewhere.

I went straight from the cigalikes to a provari with a z-atty pro tank, about 2 months ago. Very happy with it. Cant say anything about egos bebause i never went there. Was a bit nervous wrapping the coil for the first time, but was less of a hassle then i had thought. Get it if you can. I already got my second provari, a mini to use at work.

Do mods offer significantly better vapor quality (flavor, throat hit) over vv egos, or is it mainly about battery life? I've read conflicting opinions on this issue.
I would say the electronic mods used in variable wattage mode offer more consistency because they monitor the resistance of the coil and automatically adjust the voltage accordingly , the resistance tends to increase with usage and getting gunked up so the mod will compensate for it.

I have to cast my vote for the E Vic. I have one of these for the house and E Go twists for on the go. The E Vic has a great battery life you can track statistics with computer software and has firmware upgrades. The thing is like the Energizer bunny. Being a heavy vaper it just keeps on going and delivering. I started with an Ismoka BCC Mega and use it for the back up flavor but my go to with the E Vic is the Kanger Protank; these two are a great combo worth every $ and more.
