I would like to propose a game need feed back: just an idea.

The wishing box.​

Starting box is with a mod. In a thread announcing the game ppl wanting to play (or want to donate to the game) but not hand out address could mail and e cig item or 2 for the start box to a mod. (mod would mail you a random surprise from the box at the end of game thanking you for you donation?)

To keep the playing field even, This game would only open to folks with addresses that are actually, truly, physically in the United States.

now to explain mailing :
The mod send the box (with note inside reminding ppl of the rules if you would like) to a random mystery active Pifer. (That is on the open list of players in the game) on a wishing box game thread for all to see.

Player one now has a box of goodies. But dose not keep all instead picks a limited number of items like 2 to 5 but replaces the same # of items. Then mails wish off to a not yet picked random player on the open list of names.

The wish box moves on in this manner to all players as each receiving players name is marked off the list. So before you mail the wish off you need to look at the thread and see what names are left then refer to your private list for address.

The box last stop can be the mod that starters the box's travel. Items to be recycled to those in emergency need or a prize to the last randomly picked to keep all left inside. (note to do the prize bit we would need to post a code for each corresponding name) I have this worked out too I think. and would explain if ppl are interested.

Naturally 2 more thing need explained that come to mind. 1 A private list of all address playing should be handed out to players (only). and 2 A thread list where players would acknowledge they received the wish box picked some goodies and added more. and have also passed it on to another player...


I don't know about you all but I have a lil list of ppl I trade with already. So having a game list would not be too hard for me....

I'd be up for trying it. I'm curious to see some of the creative stuff that would end up in there. Just a thought..as you mentioned there are some pretty generous PIFers out there who may drop some higher value items in the box. Might be wise to suggest to players to at least attempt to give equal to what they receive, i.e., receiving 3 ego batts doesn't equal giving 3 sample flavors. Just my two cents

I have seen things like this start on a lot of boards around the webz. They invariably end "badly" as the box either disappears or the contents (sometimes not so) slowly degrade into uselessness. I have, however, seen one or two of them take a couple of years to get to that point.

Personally, I would be game. Taking the previous thread into account it seems to me that if you don't want to participate you don't have to. And if there's something in the box you don't trust you probably shouldn't take it. I am assuming that participation would be voluntary--no one would be forcing anyone else to "play."

I am wary of sending one person my address (part of the reason I haven't pif'ed sometimes, other than my offerings were too small to justify the take) much less a larger group of people. Where one person holds the addy's and sends a PM to one of the "registered" group would be more to my liking. At least then I am not giving my addy to 20 or so members...I mean...what if Lox and Jazz got it...there is no tellilng what kind of things they would do to me if I accidently broke the rules.

I like the idea, but the methods make me nervous. I am not even sure if I would be considered a "regular" by your standards.

but also note it is a wish, let's say a mad vavps Box mod was in it and the person really wanted and just started only having a lil ciggie or an ego. I think they should have tins wish then... Id say the players would need to use good judgment and not grad that box mod if they own a vv. see what I'm getting at.

I know the ides is nothing new for the web but I would think with this crew and the fact we stick to a list of name and once the last name is reached the game (for that box) would be done. puts a nice cap on things I think. less random....

You could always donate to the start.. (and you just gave me thin idea) then at the end of the game the mod has the box right? so the mod would/could mail you a random surprise from the box than? Only 1 has your addy then

I love the idea mod has list of names then hand out one address in pm to the next in line. 1 gets 2, 2 gets 3 all clean.

OK I have read that thread now and I see a lot of my trusted friends did not like an idea that had no parameters listed no explaining on how it would be controlled. An idea as neat as it was handed to them by what look to be a not very active newbie at the time. I hope he was not using the pic along that the inquiry .

Thanks for the intel I like all these options. Though I think if there is negative feed back related to pif the ECF account of offender is closed. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

I think a well defined set of rules would help, things like :

"Organizer" will gather and filter the list and post it, with a deadline to get addy's in. (no addy - no play, addy by PM only to "Organizer")

Box must be mailed within 7 days of receipt (unless extension granted by the "Organizer" who in this case, seems would be you).

Value should be roughly equivalent to what is removed - take a box of cartos - leave 15ml of liquid or 10ml of premium liquid or a used ego batt in good shape.

A definate decision on what is going to happen to the remainder of items.

Possibly a subset of rules dependent on the group (such as no dekang juices/no china juices or "take X worth and put X worth in!") stated before the start.


This sounds really fun, and certainly with the right group could be fantastic.

I would say that if you want to do this start a separate social group for it. The PIF mods have enough to do right now without more headaches.

Since the software updates all social groups can be read by all and can be read in the normal forum list. Also you don't have to join to participate.

The idea sounds good in theory, but in reality there is an awful lot of room for problems to develop and we all know it only takes one bad apple to spoil the entire thing. A thread for handling this in PIF means that it IS part of PIF plain and simple. There is no getting around that.

I suggest that if say, 10 trusted friends(or whatever number of people you pick), that happen to be part of PIF want to do something like this on your own that you do it as a private PIF among yourselves having nothing to do with PIF other then the coincidence that all happen to also participate here. If all goes well then you'll have a great time and if something were to go wrong it has nothing to do with PIF and isn't something the mods would have to get involved in nor would the rest of PIF have to listen to the drama.
