Maybe I'm crazy, or could have just been light/water playing tricks... but I emptied out my iAtty and took it partially apart to rinse out juice before putting in a new flavor (didn't get much wick/wire so don't want to waste it). Out of habit did a little dry burning to make sure I got all the old flavor out, and to see how it all works better.

It really did look like the o-ring the cup is sitting in (at least the top one) was melted, but I didn't try to take it apart and see (partially because the cup was hot at the time, and because if they are... don't think I could fix that right away).

Anyone seen/heard anything like this? I could have just been crazy, lack of coffee and all, but made me wonder. What is the heat limit of those o-rings?

I'm pretty sure my ceramic is now fused into the plastic cup... purely due to operator error. I will be pestering Imeo for a replacement part. After the fact, I realized dry burning on the iAtty at 6.4V isn't smart. Especially since I could just replace the works easily.

I'm generally a reasonably smart guy, but I have my moments

Para, I have a friend (he's in his earlier 70's) very bright guy. He told me we all do dumb things. He used to remodel and flip houses thirty years ago. He told me one day "the dumbest thing he has ever done" and subsequently how he compares all of his "brain farts" now. He was remodeling a bathroom in one of his houses and had this brilliant idea that no one had ever done before (with good reason) He installed a light switch in a shower. It makes me laugh to think about this, and he laughs about it. If he hadn't come to his senses that could have been a very shocking experience. So now when I make a stupid mistake, I just chuckle about my friend Joe and move on with life :D

o-rings can go at 200 Celsious degress. You can never reach this temperature to the neck of the ceramic Valsa, no worries:)

Imeo,

You can melt the orings-plastic with a dry burn trying to clean the coil...I did it today...and this was for sure without the resistance outside of the ceramic.

Do you know when some new plastic internal parts will be to suppliers....i need a new one now and will probably get some extras too just in case!

I have send plastics to my sellers Kc. But I did the dry burn for 2 whole mins, wire was hot red and o-rings didnt melt at all. In fact they were not even hot. Strange

Imeo, I stand corrected....it was the plastic that melted on mine. o-rings must have transferred the heat is all I can figure.
