iclear 30 weird taste

Hey guys i was wondering if anyone could help with i have seen this thread before but no good answers, i have an iClear 30 cartomizer and it works great but, the taste is off. It taste like a weird metal type taste mixed with a burnt taste, my wicks are wet and everything is connected properly. Any ideas?

For Me I Had To Give It A Couple tanks Then The Metal Taste Went Away. No Idea On The Burnt Taste.

Maybe the coil is not touching the wick correctly and try and it put it under some water.

I have already gone through a few tanks and still get an off taste. Does anyone know how to take it apart to fix it?

Maybe you have a bad head?
If you have replacements, I say just eat the roughly $3 and replace it.
If not, try a vodka wash and maybe prime the coils with a drop or two before filling.
Strange, I've never had a metallic taste with any of my 30s.

mine just came in the mail and i filled it up with some new juice and im finding the same problem. not so much burnt taste, but a weird perfumey metal taste. i cleaned it out and filled it up with my go to juice and same thing. disappointed to say the least. maybe i didnt clean it out well enough, but most clearo's i fill up and go without a pre-clean and get great taste and vape off the bat.

maybe it just needs to be broken in a little bit. I've heard of that about other clearo's/attys.

My iClear 30 is working fine. The more I use it the more I like it. I like to clean mine out with vodka too. I'm still running the original atomizer head. I'm waiting on a CE4 drip tip adapter in the mail. I'm going to cut it down and use it with a ming drip tip in place of the stock one.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I had been using a Protank, so I had become used to the metal tips and the flavors associated from going from a plastic tipped Kanger style clearo to a metal tipped. Other than that, I'm still using my original coil head and it's been nearly a month.

Others have reported a "taste," but that usually goes away after a rinsing. Unless the wicks got burnt. After filing, I usually allow time for the juice to soak up into the wicks, so I've never had a burnt taste.

I'm sorry that you're having difficulties. Both of my iclears, the 16 and 30s, have been fantastic once you get to know them. Most clearomizers and tanks all have little "flaws," or designs that you have to get used to and cater to for the best results.

I definitely recommend giving this clearo a rinse before use. Mine came with a horrid taste and I ended up dumping the first fill after a few hours of the taste not going away.

I'm usually impatient and want to use my purchases as soon as they arrive, and while not everyone has reported the weird taste, I highly recommend cleaning this unit out upon receipt to avoid any unpleasantness.

I do however find the draw to be a little too tight for my taste on the iclear, I'm wondering if it's just the machining of my unit or if they all have a bit of a tight draw.

Regardless, this clearo will definitely continue to get heavy use.

I recently just got my iclear 30 in the mail a few days ago, and i cannot say that i have a weird taste ( actually the flavor is pretty good) , i can agree on the tight draw... What i did was punched out the draw holes on the side of the 510 connecter and i cut the tip off the rubber valve that protects leaking. It made a very little difference lol. Oh and i noticed that my Evic gives me a tighter draw than when i use it on my Lava Tube.

Mine had the strange taste as well, after a few fills it went away though. It seems some of them just need to be "broken in"

You mean they're not supposed to taste that way? I thought all top coil clearomizers tasted that way. Same reason I switched to bottom coils....they taste better.....to me, imho. and remember, the iClear30 is considered one of the best, if not THE BEST, of the top coils.

It's the metal. Some people are just more sensitive to the taste. I bought six of them. Tried one and tasted the metal. Soaked the tip in apple cider vinegar and could still taste the metal. I soaked it in vodka and could still taste the metal. I soaked it in rubbing alcohol and then boiled it and I could still taste the metal. So I sold the other 5.

I have a protank and can taste a slight hint of metal but not nearly as bad as the i30. I also have a Tatroe tank with a plastic drip tip and have no metal taste at all.

I wish someone would make a plastic replacement tip for the i30 because I do like the occasional top coil vape.

Just got my iclear yesterday, no burnt taste or metallicity from the get-go. Using it on my vamo @ 3.5V. What devices are you guys using and what voltages are you running at?
