iClear 30 wicks

I have a couple extra tanks laying around, plus a couple RBA's on the way, so I don't really care to fuss around with rebuilding the iClear. I was wondering, though, my wicks are pretty toasty and I do like the way the tank tastes when I use it. If I were to pull out the stock wicks and without replacing the coils roll up some cotton and re-wick it... would it work ok? Maybe dry burn the coils a bit after taking the original wicks out and get the crud off? Just trying to not have to go spend any more money than I already have.

Like I said, it's pretty noob style, but it works and vapes great imo... Advice, critisizm, preferably good, is welcome!
