Jimbob - I would estimate the atomiser life at 1 year if it didnt clog up. Or if the cleaning was totally effective. I think we can clean the coil very well but not sure about the fibres inside the coil. Perhaps good cleaning can give us 6 months. It's better than throwing one away every day, as you said, though no worse than all the packaging for example that is also thrown out daily, not all recyclable.
In another thread Terraphon and myself have been investigating the possibility that even pure PG / VG can create deposits by being partially degraded/burned by the flash heating.
So, an easy automated atomiser cleaner would have its market. Especially when you consider that our current atomisers are probably built to a higher quality / spec than the throwaway ones.
