This would be totally awesome. I was silently hoping for a pumpkin SR, but heard a rumor that Clark was going to be taking a break from that for some time. Thankfully this seems to be a baseless rumor. ;)

Me and the Mrs. are completely hooked on Dunkin Donuts pumpkin coffee. When fall comes we just stop buying beans for the house because there is no competition. The morning ritual includes a trip to DD to get our fix while they are doling out the pumpkin crack.

AWESOME!!!! Go to starbucks this morning and order yourself a triple grande pumpkin spice latte. It's the best 6 bucks you'll spend all day
I'm surprised to see that they do have this here! Never heard of it before, but I'm a Café Nero fan - especially their latte!

I see we have a Starbucks in town, so next time, I'll try one. ....they don't seem to mention actual pumpkin in the decription? But, there's 3 spices mentioned ...sounds a bit ott? or is it just a hint?

The ideal vision of Autumn: bright days that grow cool and call for warm knits as we walk under leaves that curl red and gold in a soft wind.

As friends come together to mark the end of summer and anticipate coming festivities, there is one warm treat that you have asked for time and again and we can now oblige - and we know it will become a part of your Autumn routine.

The Pumpkin Spice Latte is Autumns’s favourite drink. Signature espresso blended with the unmistakable spices of fall – cinnamon, nutmeg and clove – smooth with steamed milk and topped with delectably sweetened whipped cream.

Pictor, you'll enjoy this.

My MIL took her new husband (my hubby's dad) to England to meet her family and her mum decided that since he was visiting over the US's Thanksgiving holiday they would put on a Thanksgiving feast just for him. Well, there was no turkey as their oven couldn't hold it (too small) so she baked six chickens over the few days it took. She got the mashed potatoes wrong as everyone besides my FIL preferred turnips so she thought he would like them better too. (No...) And she even made pumpkin pie for him! Took forever for her to find a pumpkin small enough but did. Then she sliced the pumpkin, with skin still on, like apples and baked a "pumpkin" pie with a crust on tops and everything.

Kudos to my FIL who never eats anything besides potatoes, ham, bread, and corn. He ate hearty helpings of everything while my MIL watched in surprised horror and pride for him. A year later my MIL sent her an article from our paper talking about pumpkin pie and the best way to do it and Moppit never lived that down. She was horrified that she had failed so miserably but loved my FIL so much for not making a scene.

He still says it was the oddest but best Thanksgiving ever.

So funny! Reminds me of my very first Sunday roast dinner! The beef was so rare it tried to run off when we were cutting it, the potatoes were brown but raw, the Brussels sprouts soggy and anaemic, and the gravy lumpy - but, the Yorkshire puddings were first class!
I just can't ever get everything to be perfectly cooked at the same time! ...no, I'm not much better now! I just wasn't born to cook. I don't sew either.
I can however do a good Kleftico, Bolognese and stroganoff.
I think a generation got missed - our eldest son picked up where my Dad left off and makes a great Christmas dinner, puddings and cakes! He and his new wife recently made some terrific cheesecakes for their post wedding UK party: Key Lime and Mango! plus a gorgeous 3 tier wedding cake. All decorated with the stars & stripes! They visited NY last December, fell in love with it (and each other), and got married there in July. They love the place.

Now, as for the pumpkin pie ...hah! I see it's what we call a tart or a flan! A pie to us has a pastry lid! Can see where Moppit got that wrong.
It looks delicious ...custard! brilliant ...and served with cream ...doubly so :) I still don't know what pumpkin tastes like, but to coin a phrase, quite frankly, I don't give a damn! The custard, cream and pastry base make it a yes! .....in VG a winner! ;)

the Starbucks drink is a pumpkin SPICE latte... in that it uses the spices that go with pumpkin pie etc. but not the actual pumpkin flavor.

not sure if clark is going for a copy of the starbucks drink or an actual latte with pumpkin flavor in it.

My vote is for the straight up version.

I have wakonda to mix if I want it that way on a given day...

I agree. :thumb:

Oh! That makes sense Pictor! To tell the truth my MIL CANNOT cook....at all...even from a box.

Moppit could usually so that's why she was so flustered by the challenge. Hubby and I have taken over the holidays as well. It's just easier if we say "come at 11" and eat when they get here rather than having her say, "come at 11", greet us in her pajamas, spend an hour fussing over the house that she didn't get picked up for visitors yet, trying to fix us tea and snacks then giving up on getting dressed, struggle through the making of the dinner and we maybe eat 70% of the planned meal by 3pm at the earliest. It was just so painful to watch.

Ha-ha! That sounds a lot like I was today! ...except no visitors! My excuse is that I worked until 4am and didn't get to sleep until 4.30 by the time I cleared up and got to bed!
Thankfully, my husband made lunch and most of dinner too - I'm 'tidy' now and working though after a bucket size mug of coffee  ...think I turned nocturnal

I would dig more pumpkin less spice. Going with a coffee flavor sounds yummy if it were more like a wakonda with pumpkin. I can't say I've had a pumpkn spice latte from SB recently enough to remember what it's like, but the spice part makes me think less cream and more cinnamon. The original pumpkin pie idea sounds really nice...mmm this is the best part of the weather getting cold.

He-heeee! True, I've never been to Starbucks!

I've been to Costa Coffee, Caffé Nero (Latte & delicious Cappuccino cake!), Betty's Tea Rooms (great house blend coffee), and a fair number of individual ones - 4pm here is stop work and have a huge mug of fresh Morning Americano double pod coffee ....and a stem ginger and dark chocolate cookie if we have them ...bliss :)

I agree with that - I like the whole custard, cream, pumpkin & pie with latte coffee idea! :)
