Ok, so I've built a few atty's in my time vaping and I've soldered nichrome and kanthal and it's not fun. It's also too time consuming for someone who likes to change things up often and try out different things/ideas.
I've used standoff's/screws which work great but use too much space. I'm trying to go as small as possible. I don't really know why.
I've also played around with the needle/nail in a syringe tube idea but with the mess of parts, tubes, nails, pins, needles, syringes etc. that I have, nothing fits just right.
I'm willing to bet Dan's spring design works good but it looks to use up about as much space as M2 screws would.
BigBulli's needle and CE2 ceramic cup sounds feasable but I'm not excited about that connection.

More ideas please? :vapor:

poland, and the brassy lands of google
I really can't think of anything smaller than the pins and needle approach. Use a needle chart, add for the size of the wire you like and have a variety of pins to try. Once it is pretty close but still a bit loose, you can use slightly longer wire that is bent, and or put a slight bend in the pin.

How about a tension spring instead?
