If we had an awareness color, what would it be?

I like the Green Idea... but as someone pointed out everything is "going green" , so how about some green variants? PMS 3415 "kelly green" or PMS 355 "bright green" PMS 3252 "paradise green"

The idea behind the confederate blue/grey is appealing, but there are a lot of negative connotations with that also..

But on the blue subject.. i do like PMS 292 "columbia blue" its kind of a sky blue.. see NC Tarhill blue...

afterthought... PMS.. pantone matching system for those not color book inclined

Maybe something like the fire dept. and the police use but in the blue/gray colors?

Yeah, I was definitely not looking at ribbons, and I agree with you on their overuse. I would like to have a color or colors that we could assign meaning to though.

Nods...I mean have you really looked at the awareness ribbons and their associated colors...what they mean anymore is a joke because there's like 50 billion causes using each....

I'd almost say to go the route that alot of the alternative lifestyles did and just go for designing and coming up with a flag of sorts (like the different pride flags)

I know this would pobably be too expensive but.......I've wanted for some time now a miniature little black, manual e-cig lapel pin, with perhaps a brass colored ring between the cart and the batt so it stands out, and a working Blue LED light. Then when people ask me what it is I tell them it is my e-cigarette pin to show my support for the electronic cigarette technology. I explain to them it is a miniature e-cigarette, then I push the button and the LED glows that beautiful Blue...and when they say wow, cool...but no smoke....I smile and say, Exactly, No Smoke!! Then if they're still interested I explain how a real one works.

I hate to be a bummer, but ...
Are y'all talking about yet ANOTHER one of those dayumed awareness ribbons which are on the back of every vehicle nowadays ... some vehicles with two or three? So many that nobody pays any attention to them, regardless of what they're for? They're sure annoying.

I vote for clear/transparent ... with matching ink. OK, kindly disregard this post and carry on, LOL

Nope, sorry to disapoint you NCC, but no ribbons. :D

I've gotta agree with NCC. The lapel pin sounds good though. Any connection with "the confederacy" is probably a really BAD idea for people like myself who connect that with pro-slavery convictions.

You know, although I would prefer not to get into the whole politically correct discussion, confederacy and confederate are words I really feel like we should be trying to take back. Outside of the historical overshadowing they've received they have no actual connection. I mean, you don't see people protesting Volkswagens because Hitler sponsored the first factory.

I would support a lapel pin.. only problem... most of the time i wear custom screen printed t-shirt to work... not that the pin couldn't be put on it... but it would look better on a polo/button down...

sky blue or Columbia blue would be pretty nice... or if you want to incorporate the clouds without using an right out illustration of a cloud.. consider "powder blue"

While i agree with you to an extent.. its gonna be difficult for me to wear confederate colors south of the mason dixon line and not eventually catch some grief for it. While most of the younger generation wouldn't likely catch it the connection.. i have to believe at some point its gonna offend someone...

My 2pennies:

PV's are already labeled as e-cigarettes
Vapor is already confused with smoke
Cigarettes are analogs

Please don't associate our cause with colors or a name that many people find offensive! There is no reason we have to keep shooting ourselves in the foot, is there?

I'm from the South, BTW.

Alright, Spence has definitely made a point here. Although we may be open minded and know what's right and/or true, we will always deal with backward minded individuals, and said individuals are never really going to change.

So, if we don't go with blue and gray and do want to go with a two color combination, how about blue and white or green and white? This negates the fact that so many causes use the single colors and as far as I know, no cause uses either combination.

Honestly... IMO we should go with more than just a color... what we need is a universal icon... see apple logo.. nike swoosh... once an image or simplified icon is choosen to represent vaping internationally.. then pick a color for it...

one the color note.. i still like columbia blue or a powder blue... see my comments above

I've lived in the south all my life and I don't think anyone young or old is going to automatically associate the colors blue and gray with the confederate states of america. Perhaps if you used a stars and bars confederate flag somewhere yes but I don't think that's being suggested.

I am so tired of political correctness and you might as well throw in revisionist apologist history as well. Red, white and blue would offend some people. Get over it. Pick some colors - blue and gold maybe - oops the Boy Scouts already use that.
