But you aren't thinking about opening a store either, rt?

FTR Joye atty's/tanks/batts are intended for the most casual of vapers.

And I'll say it again: Not even knowing about the atty that goes with the product that introduced the eGo battery is just ignorant for an owner of a store who needs to be bringing people in to vaping.

I didn't outright say it, but my point was that while they shouldn't open a shop with such little knowledge, they will gain knowledge quickly. All hope is not lost and I am optimistic they will become an asset to the vaping community. I care less for snobbery and rudeness than I do ignorance in this case.

No. I'm not familiar. What is a wrong charger for an ego? Is there an ego charger that screws into an ego that is the wrong charger for an ego? I haven't heard of that. I am familiar with the fact that any battery could be subject to failure.....

This is what happens when you use the wrong charger for your specific type eGo battery:

If you watch all the way through you'll see that the big flaming ball of chemicals that stuck to the girl was the insides of the ecig and the outer casing was left on a shelf on the wall on the right.

Now do you understand why it's important for a retailer to know what they are doing?

Did I miss something? Was the op given some dangerous information, misinformed about something, or argued with? Where was that in the post? He asked for what is now a pretty uncommon product, and they didn't know what it was. For SHAME! Lets string them up!

And I'm disregarding the bag of rusty heads part of the story. Simply too unbelievable.

Selling used heads is inexcusable. You can't disregard that because it didn't fit the rest of your argument.

OP is talking about the same replacement heads used in the eGo-C, eRoll, and eCab.

As well as the Ovale Elips ...

of which i am apparently one of the dozen or so users in the whole world ... :(

The OP was lucky the store staff even talked to him. I gave up at the closest (chain) B&M after my second visit, completely ignored for about 20 minutes each time. Not other customers, just a vapefest in the corner on a couch with the clerk(s?) and their high school buddies, slightly annoyed that someone they didn't know had entered their world uninvited ...

But to be fair, there are several others that have opened since, and I should give them a try ... :D

Tee hee, funny story, Nate760 :D

And I agree: People who open a store should be knowledgeable about what they are selling. Not experts.. nobody needs to know everything.. especially not in the beginning ... but at least knowledgeable. It is the store owners' responsibility to give advice to the customers, not vice versa.

And if you mean eGo C heads (these? ), then that is nothing special. (We say "eGo C heads" in my country, not sure what you call them elsewhere).

And rusty heads, that is a no-no.

I have only ever seen one type of ego charger. They screw into the top of an ego battery, then plug into a USB adapter. What is the wrong kind?
on the news it was said that this person had attempted to charge their e-cig with their I-PHONE charger.

DUH. stupid is as stupid does. One does not need to be an expert, nor tech savvy, to have the very basic understanding that a phone charger - made by a completely different manufacturer to boot - is clearly the wrong charger to use for an e-cig. I mean really - it should be obvious to anyone with a brain that you use only the brand/model of charger that came with the device to charge it. Even if not using that 'specific' charger, only a similar brand and model should be used ... not one for an entirely different type of device.

Oh I totally know what your saying!! My hometown vape shop is no better I swear!! I asked my home town vape shop for a 24mg juice he said "um, all I got is 18 but I have a bottle of straight nicotine and I can put a DROPPER FULL in the juice for you." Um no thanks. Don't you think it should be measured? Um a dropper full, really you want to kill me! Straight nicotine! Wow! So um yeah, I make my own juice and order my parts offline. I feel your pain! Another thing my shop had for sale was zuse e juice for only TWICE the price it costs to order it off line! What a deal! I'm serious!

This is typical of many posts about new B & M vape shops posted here on ECF.
So what's with the snarky comments?
It's one thing to "educate" a newb, or someone who has moved on in their learning curve and is having some difficulty, but educate a proprietor of a vape shop? WHY?!?! Are they incapable of doing their own homework?
They're in the business of vaping, shouldn't they know what the heck their wares are??
That's like me telling a heavy equipment sales lot what zerks are.
There's this little thing called "Small Business Management" and knowing your product. I've spent literally 100's of hours researching, asking advice and questions, joining ECF, trial and error, Google searching, etc. I have no B & M around.

I'll educate my fellow vapers, but the heck if I'm going to educate someone who intends to suck cash out of my wallet with that knowledge. :2c:

Yeah I wouldn't take my computer to a shop and teach them how to fix it. If you're going to open up a business, any business, you better at least know the basics of what you're doing. People are going to be looking at you as a professional. It really doesn't take that much effort to learn a sufficient amount to operate a vape shop. If you can't at least do that, then don't expect your customers to feel sorry for you and show you the way.

I had the same thing happen to me. I got the deer in headlights look. So I used that as an opportunity to educated the 70 yr old woman who was placing the e-liquids in a display case directly in sunlight. I spent an half hour there and by the end of my visit she had about 7 sticky pad papers full of notes. Never pass an opportunity to make a friend and possibly create a local supplier, saves on shipping costs and gets others interested in vaping.

Lol I love asking a,question at a shop and stumping them. Like.. Oh a kayfun.., what is the price? Oh.., only 65$? So is it a clone? They say yes.. but its, the best clone you can get. I ask.. Is it hcigar or ehpro? Response.. Umn.. No.. I forget the maker.. Me:,maybe tobeco? Bigger deer in,the head lights..

I just laughed., love the shop though. It's a husband and wife team. He knows a lot. She knows enough for most people.. I just have fun stumping her. I wanted/want to work there and have at least shown them I know my stuff. Only thing I came in ignorant on was rdas.. Bc id never used one..
