Got my IGO-L a few days ago. I got 2.5mm Silica and 30awg Kanthal. My first coil was 4 wraps and I connected it to my evic; which said it was about .6 ohms? It was pretty low. I don't mind having a low ohm atty at all, but my evic does.

Apparently the evic refuses to give power to anything under 1.0 ohms. My brother's evic wouldn't fire on the coil either. So my brother wrapped one, and that one was like 1.3 ohms and we fired it. It was working, got red hot n what-not. So we juiced it up and took some vapes.

Absolute garbage tasting. Played with the coil a bit and couldn't get anything to go. So we trashed the coil and wrapped a new one. that one was 9 wraps! We went super overboard and wrapped 9 tight coils which showed about 1.7 ohms. Juiced it up, absolute trash again.

My brother got his IGO yesterday and he has done a few coils as well, same problem. So far to me this igo is not holding up to it's popularity. By no means are my brother OR I new to vaping. We've both been vaping for ~2 1/2 years and have had many devices, many different atomizer systems (tanks, drip atties, cartos, clearos, you name it) and we just can't get the igo to function properly. Not to mention my brother rebuilds his VapeOnly BCC atomizers with his own wick and wire and has done so for a while now. He's never had a problem building coils in that, so why is the igo posing such a problem?

Anything would be appreciated. If you need more information just ask, I'll be refreshing the page a lot to answer people quickly.

<-- non expert. You mention the ohms of your coils but not the voltage or wattage you used on the evic.

I like to vape my 2.5ohm VapeOnly BCC at 9.0 Watts and it hits like a champ at that wattage. With the IGO I used a variety of different wattages all the way down to as low as my evic can go which was 3.6 watts and it still didn't perform. Wouldn't perform on low, medium, or high wattage well. Not sure. Oh I also forgot to mention that I'm using Cinn/Mint 70/30 juice, and my brother is using a red bull juice ATM with the same results.

Got pics of your setup? IMO, the IGO has performed best, for me, with a sub-ohm setup on a mech mod. That's not to say you can get good performance otherwise, I'm just not familiar with any other way. Hopefully someone will chime in. GL!

I could take a quick photo of both of our current coils on both of our IGOs. Gimme a second.

The left one is mine, which is wrapped a whole bunch (because I've been experimenting with different coil sizes etc) and the right one is my brother's which is only about 4 wraps. Mine is reading out at 1.3ohms with ALL THOSE WRAPS and his is 1.7ohms with only 4 wraps.

He is currently vaping his at 7 watts and it's harsh and little vapor and little flavor. Mine is harsh with muted flavor and barely any vapor at all.

Both using 30awg Kanthal and both using 2.5mm Silica.

We're also not loading the bowl with juice, due to the nature of the coils we're only putting juice on the coil and soaking the wick, we're not filling it with 10-15 drops like the igo is supposed to be able to hold.

Hope the picture will suffice. :)

Mine is reading 1.1 ohms, using it at 3.4v. Maybe you're not dripping enough to get it really wet. I drip as many as 25 drops at one time. Follow this link and scroll down to post #19. These are the pictures I used when I first got mine and built it.

I also drilled out my air hole to 1/16

I fire my mine at 5v on a regulated mod with a 1.5ohm coil.. Hits like a freight train.. I have it on a sigelei zmax v3 tele on dual 18350s.. Which is using ohms law is around 19 watts i think.. Try goin to voltage coz 15watts isn't cutting it for me and make sure hot spots are gone.. With dual 18350s i can fire my low ohm coils without limitations but idk about the evic.. My :2c:
