Materials used:

Coil wire: 28 gauge Kanthal A1 (start with a 4" or 5"piece to make it easy to wrap

Wick: CVS Sterile rolled cotton.

Just curious because I've thought about doing it eventually - what equipment are you using for your picks and video? It looks good and the focus seems to stay sharp and quick. So far all I've got is an iphone with an olloclip and a 1080p web cam still in the box. And I have more money than good sense.

iPhone 5 on a mini tripod running movie pro app to shoot and iMovie app to edit . Sometimes I have focus dilemmas too but much less with the movie pro app

For pictures i run camera+ app on same iPhone 5 and if I have time, I bust out the light box and 3 lights - thanks to ltrainer for the light box suggestion .

Just started to use imgur.com to host pix too. It's sweet - once you create an account and change your image hosting setting in ECF to imgur you can add a pic right from your phone in your post and it is still hosted by imgur. This equals high res

I initially thought you had to put your pix on imgur but they go there once you select one and post it in a thread too

I've got the new 5S iphone with the dual processors - one dedicated to the camera. I'll have to check into those apps. I'm still not getting that resolution so I'm guessing the lighting makes a big difference. I know it has for the pics I've done so far.

Lighting is KEY. As a stability (tripod) especially with macros.

Your phone should produce some amazing photos.
