I'm just two months into vaping and so hooked on this new hobby! My fav so far has been EVODs on my EGO twist. I just got my new IGO-S today and some organic cotton balls to test out. Well I am overjoyed and just wanted to share my happiness - all thanks to this forum and the awesome members! I've liked dripping the 510 LR attys quite a bit but this takes dripping to a whole new level! Thanks for everyones help and guidance! BTW I did drill the air hole to 1/16. It's slightly airy now but better than being too tight.

My micro coils that failed on my EVOD heads works great on the IGO-S!

that's big azz drill bit!
if it wicks well that's great!
they make a nice cheap flared beauty ring for that, I got one on mine. :toast:

haha yes it is! any smaller tho and the ohms get too low.. And it is wicking incredibly good with the cotton!! I have 30 kanthal on the way and will see what that can do for me. I would like the coil to fire up faster.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder! haha ;)

If you want to speed things up a bit, you could do a coil-over-cotton build. I built a 1.5Ω micro-coil, filled the bottom of my iGO-L with a bed of cotton and then pushed the coil down into the cotton instead of placing a wick through the center.

At 10-11w, it takes less than a second to glow and the vapor is wonderful. With this method you don't have to worry about the juice well filling up if the cotton doesn't wick fast enough when you're vaping. The bedding completely covers the bottom so any drops are absorbed immediately.

Please be very careful building coils for ego batteries! Ego batteries are not capable of large amp draws. If you are not already intimately familiar with Ohm's law and how the resistance of your coil interfaces with the safe discharge rates of batteries, please become intimately familiar. You'll want to understand how many amps your coil is going to draw at a given voltage, what voltage you are pushing to the coil, and what your battery's safe discharge rates are.

While most ego batteries are protected (essentially an amp limiter), some are not. If you happen to have one that is not protected (or if the protection on your battery fails) and you overdraw the battery, you risk having the battery blow up, melt down, or any number of other fun things.

Feel free to pm me if you want some guidance.

This sounds interesting. I'd love to see a pic of that. I would think that you would have part of the coil not making contact with any wicking material - which I guess makes sense for it to light up faster. Hmmmmm..

Thank you CG! At first when I started reading your post I was thinking "ahhh these have protection built in" but I suppose there could be a possibility of it failing which I never considered before. I appreciate your concern and will be more conscious of what I'm drawing now rather than relying on the circuit protection.

Your concern is understandable, but most eGo batteries simply won't fire below X.X ohms or above Xamps. I have never heard of an unprotected eGo to be honest. I suppose you learn something new everyday.

Yeah i was thinking that you might get a warning also from the battery getting hot since its in direct contact with your hand.

By the way. I just got my 30 kanthal and this IGO-S is just KICKING it!!! My best vape experience to date!!!

I tried this out and found that it REALLY improves the flavour.

UPDATE! I have changed the setup a bit and WOW! I thought it was good before but now there is almost no delay and tons of flavor and vapor! I just dont think it can get better on a EGO twist!
