I have been vaping on the iJoy Avenger for a couple of weeks now. Recently I noticed that the wattage will increase or decrease between 10 and 50 watts randomly, mostly while the mod is sitting after I have been vaping on it. I have an Eleaf Ello Duro tank on it and actually chose the Rainbow Mirror-1 color because it matches the tank so well. It's gorgeous and I love the look, but I am afraid I am going to seriously hurt myself if I'm not paying attention and this auto-shift thing happens. I have never come across this before but I am assuming it's a glitch in the chip. At first I thought I was changing the wattage because it can very easily be done due to the weird placement of the buttons and the fact that you can't lock in the wattage settings (actually a pet peeve of mine) but it's definitely happening when I am not even holding the mod. I have watched the screen change a couple of times as well. Creepy. Anyone else having this issue? I contacted Cigabuy and tried to explain what's going on but all they want to do is refund me $15 of the mod's purchase price. Definitely not helpful. :\ I can also mail it back and they will send me a new one but this is scary and I don't want to risk it happening with another mod. Suggestions?

It might be because of the voice control feature. I'm not sure if it can, but maybe it is possible to disable that feature through the menu to see if that stops it from happening.
Tried that. Changed batteries, both 18650s and 20700s, checked settings, nothing I can see should cause this. Right now I have AI and lights off and it's still jumping. I've been watching it to see if I can see a pattern but there doesn't seem to be one.

I would stop using it and exchange it ASAP. Who knows what else can happen if it’s a faulty chip.
Yeah, it's really weird. I got nowhere with the vendor so I am going to try messaging iJoy directly to see if they have had any other complaints about this issue. Maybe there's an update for the chip or something. I still don't understand with all the new tech we still have to deal with mods that don't let you lock in wattage. I love the way it's done on the Vaporesso Revenger X. It locks automatically when you hit the fire button and you have to click 2 times to change settings or get into the menu. Why can't they all be like that? It's so much safer.

I hope ijoy responds. I never could get any response when I contacted them.

Well they said you could send it in for a replacement. I would do that (and yes, I've had the "weird button placement turn my wattage up to 222 etc.) but it doesn't sound like that is the issue. I would replace it, if it goes creepy on you again, well, you'll know that the problem is that particular mod. I would probably disable VC (personally) but you like everything about the mod except yours is faulty.

I would exchange it and see how the second one behaves before trying to move on to something else, personally. I mean like you said, it's great but it's malfunctioning. Doesn't mean the second one will, and if it does you have more grounds for a full refund, IMHO..

I'm not saying don't research other mods but if this one ticks all your boxes the smart thing to do would be BE BRAVE! And get a replacement, and treat it gingerly until you see how it does. Then if it is awful, get a refund and another mod then. Etc.

Best of luck, I had a feeling VC mods may be creepy but hopefully it's an isolated case.

That's probably what I will do. I mean, it really is pretty and I couldn't have asked for a better match for the tank, lol!

cooladdict, the same thing happens with mine. The wattage just has a mind of it's on sometimes...not all the time. I usually shut it down when it happens, and it seems fine for awhile. Nothing else seems to alleviate the problem. There is still no firmware update for it, so I assume this isn't a common issue...I don't know. What was your result? Did you get a replacement?

No, I just sent mine back. Mine got really bad after about a week and it scared me. The wattage was all over the place and it seemed to jump higher the longer I had it. Without a way to lock the wattage I just didn't feel comfortable never knowing what wattage I might be vaping at and I never got an answer from iJoy about what to do. I was bummed. It was a gorgeous setup!!
