The tfv12 doesn't have replaceable atomizer heads that use a temp control suitable wire type. Use in power / watt mode only.
Did you properly prime the head before use?
Thoroughly saturate all exposed areas of wicking material with liquid, then install in base & fill tank, let sit for a few minutes.
Always start off a new / unused head at a lower power level & gradually work your way up over at least the first half tank.

The recommended watt range for the Q4 .4Ω head of 60w - 80w is only a recommendation, a new unprimed head will mostly likely be burned/ruined by zapping it with 75w. Always start off low like 35ish w - 40ish w with the Q4 & gradually increase to find what you like best.

thanks for the replies

im still getting a good taste so dont think its ruined. luckly it got hot so quick i couldnt hold it for long and
only did like 5-10 tries.

i did put liquid on the cotton and let it sit for like 10-15mins but i didnt put enough after watching other people do it on youtube. im gonna try and put more on it now. i put the power down to 35w now and will work my way up. learning all i have today i dont see the point of having a 320w vape hehe.

the question is now, should i go back to the store and ask why they gave me something without temp control?
or am i okey with this setup?

thank you so much for the help really appreciated

((( i may be an idiot. when i was about to take the head apart i twisted something on the bottom of it and it was like an air flow thing... this maybe the reason why i got all the hot air? )))

You can tell them that you would have preferred the advice that the prince coils can't be used for TC. Maybe the next customer will be more lucky then.

The batteries are not just about the power they can put out, you'll have more vaping time with more batteries so it's not a total waste. The high power numbers on the label are some kind of marketing drivel anyways if you ask me, no battery will put out 100+ Watts for a realistic time, more like 40W-60W per high drain battery.
Your mod would best be used at 120W-180W max and only if you have the right batteries for that.

If you want to use temp control you'll need a delivery device that offers either replacement heads that use a suitable wire type for TC or an RBA section so you can build/wrap your own coils out of a suitable wire type, then wick them using cotton or rayon.

Ni, Ti, or SS are the common wire types for TC.

I use smok coils and i hardly ever prime them. I install coil head, fill tank, close off the air vents and hit it without firing for a couple minutes. This works fine for me. But as to the other thing, smok coils are for wattage mode, not tc.

You're not an idiot in my book. There is a fair amount to learn about vaping. Next time that you order something, spend the time waiting for it to arrive by doing a bit of research and you'll be all set. Have fun.

alright im gonna follow elvis advice and go slowly up in watts, i can see the cotton being wet so im just gonna hope i did it "ok" atleast. and with the air holes, maybe saving my life from the heating problems later on with higher watt.

again thank you so much for the help. you guys are awesome, really informative. thank you.

Smok does view TC as an afterthought in my opinion. The mods don't do TC well at all, and smok doesn't offer any TC coils that I know of, so if you want to be in TC mode, I'd suggest a different setup.

If you want to be vaping super high wattages, well, I'd do as others suggested and start over, priming your coil at a low number and work your way up. It's pretty rare for me to even vape my coils AT the recommended wattage, it is often below it.

You don't have to jump into TC vaping right away if you are a new vaper, most new vapers don't. I mean, it's a nice option to have down the line, maybe once you are using an RTA or an RTDA or a squonker, but it's not ultimately necessary it's more important to just find your feet and get a stable vape going for a while. TC does offer some advantages but they aren't all needed the very first second you start vaping.

Most of the "powerful" mods are overinflating their specs, it's not a great idea (IMHO as always) to push wattage to anywhere near max. For one, most batteries won't support the "max recommended wattage" as there aren't 18650's capable of delivering that kind of power in a two battery configuration. If you want high wattage vaping, I'd leave some headroom, and what BATTERIES you are using matter far more than the mod itself. The higher wattage you want to go, the more powerful batteries (Amps) you will need, but that will cause runtime to be sacrificed. One interacts with the other, so if you want high amp batteries you will get less mAh (runtime). So, once you've figure out where you like your vape, you may want to look into various battery options, could start here: Mooch's blog | E-Cigarette Forum

Good luck, and welcome to ECF,.
