Hi folks. In case you haven’t heard, another one of the great original innovators in our industry, Ikenvape, has closed their doors for the last time. :(

We (@Katdarling, myself and a few others) thought it would be a great tribute to him and his contributions to our industry and our lives, to start this thread for all friends, “family”, and any and all to pay tribute and remember one of the great vendors of our industry. And we’ll throw in a lot of friendly chit chat and fun along the way!

Many nowadays may not remember the awesome cartomizers and ("old style" :)) drippers that Isaac designed and developed. (But I KNOW there are 100s, if not 1,000s that were affected not only by his devices, but also his kindness and willingness to go way above and beyond to help those in need.)

HE is one of the key people that made this vaping thing work for many of us and probably saved countless lives! (Definitely mine! He kept sending me cartos until we found what worked (Fusion!). And he never gave up trying to get me to get the good ‘ol Io6 to work for me. But, I just couldn’t make it happen. Lol!)

Please join us with your memories of how he helped, was there when in need, always went to extremes to help… and just general chit chat among friends and fun!!!

We love you Isaac and Val!!! You will always be in our hearts and prayers. (And we hope you pop in here and join the fun as well!!! :D) !!

This thread will hopefully be a continuation of this great thread of the Ikenvape family, friends and anybody else that wanted to join in. ALL are welcome and urged to join the fun. There are some GREAT people in this group!

Ikenvapers Chat (the door is open for EVERYBODY! Come on in.)

Awesome atomizer, combining a short body 801 with 510 threading.

After everything Issac and Val have been through, and recovered from, it kills me to hear this! Issac is one of THE BEST! Had many a chat with him trying to innovate, learn, and help each other out. He's been a great friend to have.
This is truly a sad day, one of the great innovators, and he's left some mighty big shoes to fill.

    Sorry, smacs.

As a holder of 2 and a half precious boxes of 2.5 ohm 2x punched Fusions, an IBTank and 2 ElectronicStix J-tanks (with a extra Fuel Tank sleeve),
    I am deeply chagrined.

I didn't personally know Isaac, but I certainly appreciate everything that he did for the vaping community.

Using a cartotank almost exclusively for the first three years of my vaping experience, my favorite cartomizer was the "punched" Platinum model. Ikenvape cartos were so popular and in such limited supply, that you literally had to order within the first 24 hours after receiving an email alert from Isaac that a new batch had come in. They were that much better than either Boge or Smoktech cartos.

I recall that Isaac was having issues with his manufacturer in China (Boge?), and was considering having his own brand made in the USA. That was around the time that I started rebuilding exclusively, so I'm not aware of how those plans worked out or not.

Best of luck to Isaac and his family. You'll be missed. :)

Just came back after a long hiatus and it gladdened my heart to see this thread.....thought I would share a memory with you guys as well.

I met Isaac at the very first ever vaper convention. It was held in Fredericksburg Va and featured people like Dumwaldo, Drew from NHaler, Gary from Vaporheads, several Robs (it was a running joke that you needed to be named Rob to own a vaper shop), the owners of VFL and Good Prophets, Cash from Puresmoker and one of the champions of our cause, Bill Godshall....just to name a few.

It was honor to be around so many big names in this burgeoning industry and one thing about Isaac stood out in particular, he was one of the nicest and most open guys there. He didnt mind sharing trade secrets with other owners like myself, he just wanted to see the industry grow and help as many people as possible.

I found myself talking to him on several occasions because he was so approachable and friendly to everyone.

Thank you, @pizza2me and @Katdarling for getting this thread off the ground. At this moment my head is flooding with thoughts and memories, and thankful for the absolutely wonderful friends that I made through my IKENVAPE experience.

My only hope is that this thread goes on, and all of the people from the original thread join in, and that we make it a happy place to come and kivitch.

Here's to Isaac & Val - two of the most marvelous people I've had the pleasure of meeting in this great, big Vapin' world. Our hearts are with you, and the memories will always remain.

    :toast:

Return, I shall. And you can "kount" on it.

Never used any IKV anything. But it is heartwarming to read through this thread and hear how you all have a personal connection to the vendors this thread is about.

It's very sweet and kind of you to pay tribute.

THIS ^^^ is why the ECF Vaping community is so unique and beautiful.

Thanks Evan to care enough to honor a truly innovative vendor and a great human being.

I was fortunate enough to find IKV carto's towards the end of that stage in my vaping journey. They were hands down the best performing and longest lasting carto's I'd ever used. With the advent of the Aspire Nautilus and my desire to learn how to rebuild, I moved on from the world of carto tanks (although sometimes I wonder why).

I didn't know Isaac at el, but I can say that IKV's customer service was superb. It's always sad to see folks with such an ability, make the decision to move on, but with their penchant to relate to folks and genuine ability to persevere, I'm confident that brighter days are ahead for them and theirs.

Thanks for everything IKV! Best of luck with whatever you do!

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing these folks, but I recall the name. It seemed to be well known. I am enjoying the thread just the same. Its apparent these these 2 were well liked. Good story:thumb: I most likely never post again in this thread, but I will be following.:)
You missed a VERY good man! I got hooked up with him inadvertently, and somehow he sent me his phone number. It's been way too long to remember the details now. BUT he was offering to send me a REO grand and whatever else I might need to help me out! First phone call! I declined to take him up on his generosity, but that memory remains! Not many people like that out there in this day and age.
