I love this!

People can only do to you what you let them do. If someone did get over on you for being nice who's the loser? I've had people try but I usually shut them down.
Now let's look at the other side of the coin. If someone did want a little human kindness and you refused them out of your fears, now who's the loser? Besides, all I have to offer is a little conversation and friendship and that's not going to hurt anyone my good friend.

Speaking of...I was at the dollar store today. I hear someone calling..."Hey you!" I glance over and a seriously obese man in a wheelchair...very creepy looking...appears to be looking at me. I turn around to see if someone is behind me. Nope...he's looking at me. I said, "May I help you"? He points inside the refrigerator case. I walk over and he asks me to get him some juice. I opened the door and got what he needed. He said thanks. A little later, he is at the end of another isle and calls out to me..."Do they have any butter"? I said, "Let me check for you"....and I go back to the fridge case and come back and tell him there is margarine. He said fine, he would take it.. So anyway, I asked if I could help him get anything else and picked up a few more things for him. My point is he was very scary looking and initially frightened me a little. But he really was big and just couldn't move around well or stand up out of that chair. I could have ignored him and walked away...and I'm glad I did not.
