Just got an XLR 1.5Ω atty. This is actually the first atomizer I have ever purchased/used. I am kind of underwhelmed, and wondering if I am doing it wrong :) My eVic says it's 1.8Ω, so I am running it at 4.0V. I may be expecting too much, but from what I read it should have a better flavor than a carto. I actually think my Ikenvape cartos give a better flavor. The build quality seems top notch, and I never get a bad flavor or anything, just not a ton of flavor or throat hit. Vapor production is quite good. Any tips? Or maybe I should just stick with cartos :)

Thanks so much for answering :) That's kind of what I was thinking; a learning curve. Any tips? Also, is there a "break-in" period for these atty's?

The guy who knows attys is Switcher and he was nice enough to post a few threads on the subject in the stickies up above. That's where you will find your best answer. I just don't use attys that much.

It may be a faulty assumption to consider each and every drip atomizer as having a break-in period, but I think it's a safe assumption. In other words, as a whole, some do and some don't. I've had atomizers be awesome right quick and others take a few hours of heavy vaping or days of lighter vaping. I only have one 510 Canon from Ikenvape, and it was good pretty much right away. However, here are a few tips:

* Don't chain vape with a non-rebuildable drip atomizer - that'll seriously reduce its lifespan.

* Begin a draw before pressing the button and end your draw after releasing the button.

Those are the two bits of advice that came to mind, anyway...

I don't know if this helps to give some context for the OP or not, but I started dripping with rebuildables, first, before buying disposables. I didn't want to ruin disposables before getting familiar with dripping - not that they work the same way, but still...I wanted to know whether I enjoyed dripping before buying disposables.

Guilty there :) I really appreciate the advice!

I'm guilty, too...but that's what rebuildable drip atomizers are for!

Another piece of advice, though it's a bit off subject, is to get a drip shield or three...disposable drip atomizers can drip like crazy, and I get nic juice on my skin way too much as it is!

By the way, not only does chain dripping reduce the lifespan of the atomizer, but if I'm gonna chain vape, I'd just as soon not drip.

I see disposable drip atomizers as being more for testing juice, and that's another way that I differentiate between disposables and rebuildables. I test flavors on disposables; that way they last a lot longer. Chain vape on a carto or whatever else you like. If you just want tons of vapor, use a RDA.

Man Look at Contra go!!
BEAUTIFUL advice! Are you sure that you just started or using a new name?

U4ia, I like that name.
510 atties focus more on the feel side more so than flavor but you should still be getting it nicely.
I would trade up for a 1.8 or even a 2.5 on your evic. I noticed the device has a tendency of reducing the resistance with use. Provari V1 had the same issue a long time ago. 1.5 atties of any kind are better used for mechanical mods with atleast an 18650 battery. You would need something to take in all that amperage for a good output. This may sound odd, but look at it like flipping channels from standard definition to high def. With the restraints of electrical components off, the 1.5 will really shine. On an circuit board base mod, things can get muted on a 1.5 because of so much stress the low resistance is causing. Not to mention drastically reduced batt run time.
