I am new to this forum, so I am unable to post my reply to the potential banning of ecigs there.

Personally, I think Illinois is just trying to make up for lost revenue because ecigs are cheaper on those of us that once smoked. I live in Washington, and our stupid governor keeps raising taxes on tobacco products to increase state revenue. It's only a temporary fix because smokers either quit or find alternative sources.

Anyways....

What I am wondering is if anyone bothered to counter with a proposal to ban the production, distribution, and sale of high fructose corn syrup, pending further investigation by the FDA due to the rise in obesiety and diabetes. Don't forget to add on that high fructose corn syrup in many individuals is similar to that of a drug and prohibits the production of Leptin, the chemical that tells your body you are full. This will constantly cause you to crave more and is in almost everything you buy.

Yes, I know this seems to have nothing to do with ecigs. However, if I remember correctly, I believe corn is a product of that state, and the large amounts of high fructose corn syrup one can consume also cause health problems. If governments feel like they need to target and discriminate based on one legal drug, then they might as well go after all the legal drugs and harmful chemicals. And since it happens to be Illinois, well, you might as well go after one of their main industries.
