Hello everybody!

I quit smoking analogs 10 days ago but I'm struggling so I've been researching about these e-cigs. I want one! Right now!!!

So anyway, I think I want to take advantage of the big sale at MFS with the secret code provided by another forum member. I've already got some of the goodies in my shopping cart.

2X Mega eGo batteries (900mah)
2X Mega eGo Atty (cylinder)
5X Mega eGo Cartridge (empty) --- is this right? What's the diff. between Cartridge and Cartomizer? They have both!

Also, I saw a video of a guy somewhere using a LR thing and it only takes like a 2-second drag which seems like a good thing. I know it'll cost more in batteries, but that's ok. So, is it compatible to get the regular Atty's and also to try one of the LR atty's? Are they interchangeable?

And I guess I need a charger and an adaptor. Could you direct me to the best place to get those?

And I think I'd like to maybe start out with a small nicotine dosage and then go down to zero pretty soon. Even though I already quit analogs for 10 days. So, do I need to buy some juice? Or, does it come in the cartridges/cartomizers that I'd be getting from MFS?

Thanks very much! I'll check back here tomorrow evening after work, anxious to learn more and finally place an order to get started. :)

You're probably better off just getting a starter kit. That gives you everything you need except juice. I don't know how much the discount code is but there's cheaper prices than what's listed on their website for starter kits. I'd try Joyetech EGO Kit in Matte Black first because they're a good supplier with decent prices and great service. Just get a starter kit and a few bottles of juice in different strengths and flavors and maybe throw in a couple of extra atomizers and a box of cartomizers. Cartridges go on the end of an atomizer while a cartomizer is a cartridge and atomizer in one unit. Carto's are considered disposable but can be refilled quite a few times before they wear out.

I would just get an eGo kit, which has everything you need to start vaping, including the chargers. I wouldn't start out with a LR atty because they can be finicky. A cartridge attaches to the atty. A cartomizer is the cartridge and atomizer in one piece. I just started using Mega cartomizers and the hardest part for me is piercing the fill port for the first time.

You might want to get an extra atty just in case you pop one. If you really want to be adventurous, you could order a 5 pack of cartridges and a 5 pack of cartomizers just to see which one you like best.

You're also going to need juice. I buy mine from VaporBomb and Gourmet Vapors. Get 5ml bottles and try different flavors to see which ones you like. You should also consider getting some different nicotine strengths to see which level will suit you best.

Welcome to the ECF baltomickey. Alot of the folks on here suggest going with the eGo starter kits. Battery life is very good and that will be one of the biggest issues you will have at first. I know that was my problem, the cheap kit I had the batteries stunk. You can get flavored cartridges and carto's. You should be able to select the flavor and the strength with the purchase of your starter kit no matter where you buy. You may get the choice of either cartridges or carto's. You will want to get a few diff flavors though, that helps alot to have some choices to choose from. Good luck with your purchase!! :vapor:

Thanks for responding so quickly with that info, cskent. MFS does have a kit like that for about the same price, but you have to enter the code (ghost) first, to get that lower price.

I decided to go with MFS, Joye eGo Mega, but not a starter kit. I ordered $80 worth of stuff (+$5 shipping) last Thursday night around midnight and received it in the mail this morning (Monday) from North Carolina. Cool.

However, they (MFS) don't seem to carry the charger I need so I ordered that from Amajnecig dot com. It's the Rapid USB Ego charger. They had the lowest price+shipping ($10.90) that I could find. But, it didn't arrive today. So, I'll have to wait another day to start puffing the vapor. I'm assuming that I have to charge the batteries first...

I have watched a few videos on filling the carto's so I'm sure there'll be no problems with that.

The thing is, is that I really wanted to get the LR atty because, well, I'm just sold on it that it would be my preference. You guys and gals know what's up with the LR's and I think I'm going to prefer it. Also, MFS has 'em on sale for a limited time for only $5.37/ea. so I wanted to take advantage of that.

Maybe I could've gotten the starter kit + the LR atty's, but I think I had figured it would be cheaper this way.

About piercing the fill port the first time, thanks for the heads-up on that. I also saw a video this evening with a guy showing how to do that and he mentioned about that.

I did take your advice though, and ordered a 5-pack of empty carts and 2 blank Mega cartos so I can try both.

I checked out your recommended juice companies and they look tempting, but I decided to only get some Menthol crystals for now, along with a bottle of PG and three 18ga syringes from MFS. And four 20ml dropper bottles.

So now between this post and my last post in this thread, I've listed everything I got.

Should I have gotten a cone, too? I didn't, because one of the atty's, not the LR, says it's a cylinder. I surmise that if it's a cylinder, you don't use a cone. Is that correct? I don't understand what a cone is used for.

The menthol crystals have a written review that tells how to use them. That's why I got the bottles and the syringes. And the menthol crystals are very cheap and should be enough juice to last me a while. You ever tried these?

Thanks again!

Yes joye 510 atty's,cartomizers and LR atty's will fit the eGo. I got mine in parts not a kit because i wanted the 900mah batteries and i love them. Got 2 atty's 2 cones 2 batteries charger and wall adaptor for 70 bucks with shiping at heavy vapor.com from china took 8 day to get it.

Yeah, me too, I wanted the 900 batteries to complement the LR atty's. I would've gotten my charger from HV, but they want $13 to ship it.

Thanks for responding all of that info, squeeze.

Here's a thread on the eGo atty cone http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/130128-ego-cone-no-cone-4.html#post2081754. When I ordered my kit from Litecigusa.net I emailed Shawn and asked about substituting LR atty's for the regular ones, and substituting 900mah batt's for the 650mah's. He emailed me right back and said to just add an extra atty (which wouldn't ship) to my order to cover the cost difference. So for $7 extra I got the kit the way I wanted it. Talk about a supplier being accomodating.
By the way baltomickey, the batteries come with a charge so you can start vaping if you want to. The manufacturer says to charge the batteries before use, but I don't know many people on here who actually do it. It shouldn't make a difference in the long run.

Thanks, I read that thread about eGo cones. From what I could tell, there is no cone for the Mega stuff like I have.

And thanks for telling me about the batteries already charged! So, I went and crushed some menthol crystals and dissolved them in some PG and filled the carto (my syringe is just a tad too big though so I had to just insert it at the top of the hole instead of sticking down in there and all around like the videos say to do). And I puffed. Too harsh! I think I made the menthol mix way too strong so I can't get a good hit without coughing. Either that or I'm just not used to it yet. And my lips are all mentholly, as are my fingers and my desk and my bottle, lol. I think I'm going to use straight PG in the other carto tomorrow. This strong menthol one is better than nothing for tonight (didn't receive charger in mail yet, btw). I can already tell that this vaping is going to agree with me but I've got a bit to learn yet.

Thanks again you guys. I got my charger today but I started puffing yesterday.

The company that sent me the charger, amajnecigs dot com, had the best price and they must've felt bad about not putting it in the mail quicker, so they included a free little gift and a nice note of thanks for my business, so I'll consider dealing with them again for sure.

Ok, so I got 2 900mah bats and the first one just went bad all of the sudden after about a month or so of light vaping. I'd charge it occasionally and added PG to the carto occasionally also.

So, the batteries just go dead suddenly, eh? I saw the light flash and it wouldn't hit at all after that. I tried charging it but it didn't work. I threw it in the garbage.

But now I have another one so I'm good for now.

I just read about PT's (Pass-Throughs) which you plug in to your computer and don't even need bats? Can somebody please give me the low-down on that? I'm usually around a computer when I vape, so would you recommend it? Right now I use the big 900mahs w/ the mega ego carto so how do I go from that to a PT?

Thanks very much if you take the time to answer this. I'll check back frequently.
