On my short vaping journey, I quickly realized the savings of rebuilding the heads for me and my wife's evod tanks, which are essentially the same as protank heads. I was making micro coils, and wicking them with cotton from boiled cotton balls with pretty good success.
My problem came with the sweeter liquids my wife likes, and they just gunk up coils in a couple tankful's. No matter how much I tried to convince her to let me dry burn her heads after 2 to 3 tanks, she would just vape the daylights out of them until they were gunked up beyond repair.
Recently I decided to break out some 2mm ekowool I had laying around, which I didn't use originally because I thought it was too thick, but I hand wound some coils around it, and it worked great with or without flavor wicks installed.
Back when I originally tried hand winding around the stuff, I couldn't seem to do it right, which is why I started doing the micro coils with cotton, because it was IMO easier. But now, I've found I can wash and dry burn these hand wrapped ekowool built heads a few times between rebuilds. I figure I can get about 3 dry burn cycles at about 3 to 4 tanks a piece, and get around 12 to 15 tankfulls between rebuilds. That's better than having to scrap a coil build every three to four tanks like I was having to do with my wife's sweet juices.
Just wondering anyone's thoughts or opinions on this.
