I'm in Deep, Just Rebuilt My First Two Coils and I'm Loving It!

I'm extremely hard on my coils (I'm a maximum chain vaper). As you can imagine, even with cleaning them quite a bit they either had horrible performance or just stopped working all together. This was tiring not to mention expensive, so I decided to try rebuilding them.

All I can say is wow what a difference! I'm using 30g kanthal with a cotton wick and getting 1.8 to 2.0 ohms on them. I'm curious though, do they tend to last longer than ones you buy? And when they are puttering out, is it just performance that suffers or are there other signs.

I'm so enjoying all of this vaping stuff...

The coils will last much longer. The cotton wick, not so much. I replace mine after 2-3ml. I have several (dozen) in rotation so it's easy to replace the coil when I refill the tank (PT2). Drop the used ones in a cup of water and rewick when I have some spare time.

I don't notice the coils lasting longer. It's the juice you're using that gunks up the coils. The same juice is going to gunk them up just the same. One juice I use I have to rebuild daily. Other juices I can go 3 or 4 weeks without recoiling or rewicking. I don't bother cleaning anymore, it's just as easy to rebuild. At least for me.

Very Cool... I just ordered my first RDA and RBA along with supplies. I'm pretty excited. Went with 30 gauge and organic cotton. Oh and EHPRO clones of the trident and kayfun.

I find the maintenance type stuff helpful with replacing the behavioral side and ritual associated with smoking stinkies.

I love rebuilding! Its part of the hobby. I love vaping but it is so much more fun when I can rebuild all my stuff. I secretly look forward to rebuilding my RDA's and shoot for a certain day of the week to sit down and rebuild all my stuff!

We are NASCAR fans and I set up my stuff while watching races on TV. I have altoids tins for coils marked new, good and bad. As we use coils and they no longer work well, we toss them in the bad box. I buy a few new ones for quick fixes and sometimes my rebuilds fail.
