I asked a simple question about what words and discussions were not allowed on the forum and my thread was locked because it supposedly was seen as a challenge to mods.

Another thread with a question about rules was deleted.

Now I'm starting this one in the hope that there'll be some openness about what we're allowed to do here.

What's the deal with deleting a question about rules?

ok kate you asked about rules there are some here e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat - FAQ: Forum Rules - All new members must read before posting! You may not have a 3rd party make promotional posts on your behalf. If this is found to be the case both you and the 3rd party will be banned also these also these

If you think something may make a user or moderator raise their eyebrows, don't do it or ask a moderator first.

The discretion of the moderator may result in infractions being given at any time.

If you have any problems with the forum rules or other members, contact the moderators - do not start a thread on the board until you have discussed things first.

they maybe posted to suppliers but they also apply to members

currently the way i understand it is that blu is the hot word. using a simple term. but any thing is up to the judgment of the mod in question. now if it breaks a rule in that mods eyes then they can enforce said rule at their discretion. so to sum up even if blu was not used. using your example "i am looking for a device that cost the same as a janty." it may be better off to just use a price range cause if a person is unaware of what a janty is or its price then it could be considered both an ad and not. the person who knows can answer, the person who dont know may go find out and give the site revenue in some way.

kate the whole of ECF would be a harder place if we forbid words like blu it is used in alot of word blueberry and so on. as for topics why forbid them just place them in a place they belong in. in the first place and no modding of that sort would be needed. the blu forum is just a place for people to talk of blu and as of yet is not an official supplier. and depending on SJ it may come any number of things. why dont we all just wait and see. and leave it at that for now.

Well, what got me going today Mage was that a thread was moved to the Blu forum for simply having that word in it. It wasn't promotion or anything. That means that if mods are going to be fair and consistent it should happen every time Blu is mentioned. That means that forum members will stop saying Blu if they don't want intervention.

Another thing I've noticed is that in an innocent thread - no trouble, two mods issued behaviour warnings. Absolutely nothing was wrong with the thread or what was said that I could see yet it was seen as necessary to bring in the bouncers. I'd like to know what topics will provoke that kind of response because I would like to avoid them.

It doesn't seem like you are trying to avoid them Kate. You asked a question about rules...the answer is PM SJ and wait for his reply.

So that is the answer. Yet you keep posting on it.

SJ said to PM him. I said to PM him per his instructions in his thread.

The members don't have the answer.

So to keep posting the question is trying to prove what?

There is no secret...and I've tried to explain it a 1000 times. You are the only one who keeps asking it over and over.

Blu threads are moved to the blu forum. That Op's thread mentioned the blu and her becoming an affiliate. So it was moved over to the blu forum.

The blu word itself has not been banned here but if it is mentioned and we see a sudden onslaught of blu posts like we did with that 42 pager, then it would be moved to the blu forum.

Anything more than that, you need to get from SJ.

Kate,
I have liked and respected you from the first thread I read on this forum...I am one of your biggest fans here for many reasons, too many to list...That being said , I think the reason that the Blu thing, is going on is partly proportional to the amount of post reports that have been sent to moderators by people like me and other people that are just tired of seeing spammers flood the board...as a paying supplier or forum sponsor, I was quite frankly getting tremendously agravated watching every new member post being flooded with obvius Blu spammers...One of the reasons I am a forum spomnsor is for me to enhance the traffic to my site and I am forbidden from posting in the New Members Forum(even though I pay for advertising)which is probably because if SJ let everyone post there it would be an all out spam Jam ...When I decided to become a supplier I had to go through the propper channels to become a forum sponsoring supplier, and I dont think its fair to see another shill supplier just pop in and start spamming the boards, and circumvent the process that I have to pay for...Now thats MY opinion...There are also several other people on this forum that are not suppliers who apparently fed up with it as well...I PMed the mods and reported probably about 10 posts and after a while just got frustrated and stopped...Now as far as behavior that will provoke banning???If you search through some of my original posts , there are many examples:rolleyes:
Kate I hope you dont get banned over something like this....It would seem rather silly afterward...We would miss you:wub:
