Easiest way to start is to read and post your questions in the New Members forum.
Ask anything, the only stupid question is the left unasked...:) We're a friendly bunch, no flaming, we may have quit smoking, but we're not having nicotine fits.

As you gain an understanding of vaping the other forum names will make more sense. Also some answers you might get in New Members will refer you to other sections of ECF. One good forum to read through is Ask The Veterans.
There's a lot of good info in there, just pick the threads with titles that interest you.

p.s. Welcome to ECF!! .:toast:

That's kinda what the New Members area is designed to make simple. You can click "Post a Thread" or "Reply to Thread" to ask a question or join a discussion. Starting out sometimes is difficult just to learn the lingo and abbreviations used. The titles of the areas and sub-forums make more sense with a bit of time.

New Member is the area to make it as painless as possible, in fact only new members are allowed to create new threads there. (after 75 posts, you're otta here...:)) It doesn't mean you won't get advice, veteran members can reply, just not start a thread. Many vets will peruse the area looking to see if they can help a newbie, it's our Pay it Forward.

Navigation is as easy as clicking on a forum title, but some (OK, probably many) are discussing advanced techniques and products, understanding what is posted is not always simple. You can click any forum title and read some posts, see if there's anything of interest, pick some at random, trial and error, find what interests you.

As far as navigation itself, if you click on Forum you will get a complete listing. Under areas that have sub-forums there are clickable links to the sub-forums, for example under General E-Liquid Discussion there is a link for DIY E-Liquid, and once you go to DIY E-Liquid there are links for Recipes and Extraction from Tobacco.

I spent quite a bit of time when I was new just going to different areas and checking out some threads to see what was going on in each section. Some of the forum titles, like General E-Liquid Discussion are pretty obvious, others not so much so. Generally, the not so much so ones are obvious when you know enough about the topic to be interested.

Oh, and when you go to the Forum level there are pretty good descriptions of each forum. For example,

APV Discussion
(221 Viewing)
General discussion about Advanced Personal Vaporizers or mods: generic battery models aka 2nd-generation e-cigs and onward - general topics except building mods.
Use the appropriate sub-forums for specific topics such as batteries or liquid-feed models.
For construction, please use the Modding Forum.

Sub-Forums:
Mechmods, Variable Voltage APV Discussion, Liquid Feed APV Discussion, Batteries and Chargers
