Hi all, I'm new to the new e-cig world. I quit smoking about 2 months ago & after spending a crazy amount of $ on the disposable blu cig, I decided to buy a KGO starter kit. My first e cig was 100 bucks when they first came out and since, the e cig world has evolved logistically! I bought my kit from VirginVapors and bought some of their VG organic best sellers.

1. What is your favorite e-liquid? After reading some reviews I am considering buying some grey matter from Mr. e-liquid.

2. Best tank and ohms? I don't want to have a burnt taste. I am considering trying the Kanger Pro 2 tank 2.5 ML. Also looking at some of the Phiniac tanks.

3. VV cig. I am considering the KGO VV or the Pro Vape. Any other suggestions?

4. Cartomizer - what's a good one? Getting a CE4 with my kit.

Welcome to the Forum. Congrats on quitting smoking. To your questions:

1. I DIY, so I make my favorites, but occasionally, I try juice from Mt. Baker, Johnson Creek, Heather's Heavenly Vapes, and MyFreedomSmokes. Finding juice is usually the hardest part of vaping. It is totally subjective. Recommend Sampler Packs.
2. The Protank or Davide are top of the line Clearomizers. The Phiniacs are great cartomizer tanks. I use both, but prefer carto tanks.
3. Forget the KGo. They have known issues. Do some research. A better, similar choice is the iTaste 3.0 by Innokin. Check it out on IVape.com: iTaste VV 3.0 - Variable Wattage Device - Pearl Chrome | Variable Voltage | MODS | iVAPE. Use coupon code "itastevv" for a 30% discount.
4. I use Boges. They are very good and very affordable. I buy from all over but often from SureVapes.com in 5 boxes of 25, or about a buck a piece.

Good luck. Congrats. Welcome.

Thank you for such a detailed response! Where do you get your DIY stuff from?

1. What is your favorite e-liquid? I DIY, but Mt Baker Vapor is a good place to start. Best prices around and lots of flavors to choose from.

2. Best tank and ohms? I don't want to have a burnt taste. I am considering trying the Kanger Pro 2 tank 2.5 ML. Also looking at some of the Phiniac tanks. I am a carto tank gal, but for clearos, evods and ProTank are the popular choices. Haven't used either so I cannot comment. I have Phiniacs, they are nice. But to try something, IBTanked is a nice, cheaper option. I own those, too.

3. VV cig. I am considering the KGO VV or the Pro Vape. Any other suggestions? I have 2 ProVaris, but for someone new, an Ego Twist or Vision Spinner may be a better choice. I like the iTaste MVP, too.

4. Cartomizer - what's a good one? Getting a CE4 with my kit. You got Smoketech (wonky), Boges, and Ikenvape to choose from. Many choices there and hard to recommend. I think CE4 is a cleromizer?

Welcome to the forums and congratulations!

1. Once you can access the rest of the forums check out the General E-Liquid Discussion thread for a plethora of recommendations on good e-liquid and vendors. It's tough to recommend liquids for others because taste is highly subjective. A line you will hear constantly from now until forever. :)

2. The Protank is a great choice, in large part because it's pyrex. You won't have to worry about liquids that can cause plastic tanks to crack (a known issue with juices containing a lot of cinnamon, citrus, and some other types of flavorings). Because you are using a VV device, the ohm level you choose isn't as crucial. I use lower resistance as my personal preference(1.5-2.0ohms), but I would recommend trying out a couple different levels and finding which you like best.

3. Agree with the others suggesting a Twist/Spinner/Winder or MVP as good choices, mainly because I have first hand experience with those and they all perform wonderfully. I'm not familiar with KGO's or ProVape so I can't compare in that regard.

4. I'm a Boge fan when it comes to cartomizers. For other clearomizers in the CE4 style, I use Kanger Evod's almost exclusively if you are not including the Protank. They both use the same heads now I believe.

1. PS Honey from vaporus. Im in Canada so no american juice for me unless i jumped through loops.

2. I used to be a big Protank fan; have several of them. Now im more into RBA and my current favorite is the Hercules (Ithaka clone).

3. Twist and/or spinner are great but if you have the money for an MVP and you're ok with the form factor, i would recommand an MVP for sure.

4. Sorry i cannot help you on that one

Ok guys, so I am confused. If I buy a tank like the Phiniac, I would buy a boge cartomizer to go into it. If I bought a Kanger pro tank 2, it's basically the same thing as a Phiniac but includes a cartomizer, right? With the Kanger protank, will I have to change cartomizers frequently too? I'm basically looking for something that has a lot of liquid and low maintenance and lasts a long time if such a thing exists.. Still don't understand the difference between a clearomizer and a cartomizer despite all the reading I have done. Is a Kanger pro tank a clearomizer? .

I'm still pretty new, but so far I'm a big fan of the Kanger Pro Tank II with the 2.5 Ohm atomizer. I did NOT like the Kanger M-T3 with a 1.8 Ohm atomizer (burnt taste at 4.8v), but it works well stepped up to 2.5 Ohms. The advantage of a bigger tank and Pyrex with the Pro Tank II is great and the concept of a bottom feeder makes sense to me. Today I told the guy locally (legendvapor.com) that when he can order Pro Tank II Mini's, I'll want a couple of them to have some smaller tanks for different flavors (coffee in the morning, for example).

By the way, I'm using a Joyetech eGo-Twist...

Ok, so reading I have found that the protank does not have a cartomizer to replace but a coil to replace. I also found the prepunched cartomizers which have the lip on them. I'm learning and getting there. Thank you all for great suggestions and your help!
