Hi all. I'm a member on some motorcycle forums and read a thread about this e smoke thing on advrider. A member there has a online shop and I plan to invest 129. 00 next Friday. On a ego 510 and a bunch of juices.
I'm not sure of the brand its saved on my work computer and I'm posting this from my phone. I will post that up on Monday.
A brief history I smoke 2 packs a day I got married in July and my wife is a ex smoker. I know she hates me smoking so I want to try to quit or at least get rid of the smoke smell.
This seems like a good forum and I'm sure I will need to tap your knowledge frequently.

Welcome to ECF! The people in this forum are awesome and always willing to answer your questions and help out. Congratulations on your decision to vape. I was a smoker for more than 40 years and tried to quit many times without success. A week and half after I started vaping, I lit up a cigarette and gagged. That was eight months ago.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Hang on to your hat, because you're about to get some opinions.

First though, it would be great if you could tell as a few things.

How important is it to you that the device you get looks like a cigarette, or would you like to get a little more battery life and features than a look-alike will give you, like variable voltage, that lets you adjust the "vape" by regulating the temperature of the atomizer coil?

And "ego 510" might be a little ambiguous; can you tell us exactly what the device is - like provide a link to it - and tell us what your thinking is so far on why you want to go with that?

Thanks, and again, welcome.

And $129 including a bunch of juice - like a month's supply - 150ml or so - doesn't sound all that high to me. Figure on maybe 5ml a day; a 30ml bottle typically runs about $15-16, so there's $80 right there. Still way cheaper than smoking though.

Many people - me included - recommend about an 18mg nic level, and 80% PG/20% VG is a pretty common mix; also 50/50. If this is Greek to you, please let us know.

I think there is a thread for older vapors. Just can't remember the name of it.

Older? Excuse me. As someone else has in their signature, I can still fit into the earrings I wore in high school.

ETA: I can't see the holes, but if I could find them, I know they would fit.

Sorry for jumping the gun. Welcome to ECF. I was a 2-3 pack a day smoker and HAVE TO QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for health reasons and also because I got the most beautiful, wonderful woman in the world. When I started vaping I went in it with both feet. It may take some time to find what you like but when you do it is a wonderful world out there. (If you didn't notice I got a little scooter also. see avatar) Good luck and best wishes on your new journey!!!!!!!!!!

Just had a brainstorm; well, more like a passing squall, actually. Do you know the name of his website? We all love to shop; we could do yours for you! :)

I'll give it to ya straight; I know it's tough starting up a new business, but your friend doesn't yet carry what I would recommend you start with.

If you want "way more punch" - indicating to me that you want an optimum vape, and not just something that "works OK", to me that means variable voltage. (That will come as no surprise to most of the regulars here).

I really encourage you to read this very recent thread, and see what you make of it:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/338444-noob-needs-advice.html

It contains a lot of information on what variable voltage is all about, and why I think it's the way to go. There are now devices available that look alsmost exactly like that 900mah battery, except instead of being limited to one fixed voltage - and therefore one fixed temperature at the coil - you can adjust the voltage through a range of about 3.2 volts to 4.8 volts so you can dial in just the right temperature.

The most popular ones right now are the Joyetech eGo-C Twist, the Vision Spinner, and the kGo VV, and they cost around $20-25 each. You'd need a least two of them, just as that kit has two batteries, so you can use one while the other one recharges.

And the most popular "vaping attachment" right now is probably the Vivi Nova tank/atomizer. Both the variable voltage eGo batteries and the Vivi Nova are very easy to use, and perform very well. After researching this stuff for about a year now, and buying a lot of stuff, it's what I'm vaping on right now, very happily.

And now, the video you've all been waiting for ......

You know him, you love him ... so let's give it up for ...... Grimm Green!! (Yayyyyyy!!)

This video explains very well why I think a variable voltage eGo-class battery is a very nice thing to have.

Ok so I buy I couple of joytechs a couple of tanks and I'm good to go or do I need chargers and cables and the little cartridge things that the tanks fill. Is there a kit that comes with all this like the one I linked to. If so could you please give me a link.
Thanks for all ten welcomes. I did watch the video and like the look of the joytechs but I'm confused on all I need to purchase to get started.

It's really simple.

1) At least two Joyetech eGo-C Twists, or two Vision Spinners. Flip a coin.

2) At least two Vivi Nova tank/attys; any combination of the 3.5ml regular size or the 2.0ml Mini. The Mini looks a little nicer on the battery, the regular obviously holds more. Maybe get one or two of each. It's great to have a few so each one can be used for a different flavor.

3) Two chargers in case one conks out, or so you can troubleshoot (as in "hmmm, is it the charger, or the battery"?)

4) Lots of juice. The most you can afford to buy. Five flavors would be nice; 80/20 18mg will get you down the road. Figure on about 6ml per day.

5) Optional, but very nice: a trim ring that covers the external 510 threads on the battery, and neatens up the look between the battery and the Vivi Nova. About $2.

6) Optional, but very nice: a lanyard so you can keep your PV around your neck. Much harder to lose it that way, and super convenient.

If you have any trouble finding anything, I can dig up some links.

You're in for a treat; you are going to love this vape. There are better ones out there, but this one is going to be very, very good, and IMO it's very complicated to get the very best vapes. Winding your own coils, making your own wicks, exploring all of the advanced PV's and attachments available, etc. IMO the bang for the buck on this setup is phenomenal, and you'll be vaping better than 98% of most first-time vapers.

Good luck, and don't be shy about asking questions.
