I noticed Digikey has a new protocol for "foreigners" (I didn't think I was a foreigner, but ok)...after I placed my order for a couple more OKR's and some trimmers last night (Canadian shipping address) I got a very polite email from Ms. Sadie Veselka, International Sales Rep. asking me where I intended to export the items to outside of Canada...you see, I had to fill out this questionnaire before I could checkout asking me what I was going to be using the components for, whether I was a commercial or private entity and was I planning on exporting them to other countries (that was the question I screwed up, I clicked the yes box to export, US to Can. is an export right?, I miss-read...)...holy crap, dominate the hockey world and you get the big "smack down" from the US brothers...really? I don't get that kinda grief buying something off Ebay out of Shandong Province, China?, I mean, we're all in the same boat here, lets keep the jobs here...seems someone is bending over backwards to make that difficult...why?

That's what I'm worried about, I mean being so close to the states (30 min drive) my wife and I go down all the time to ski, shop, gamble, etc...to the point where we're going to apply to get a Nexus pass, we spend a ton in the US, so I'm being as co-operative as possible to the good folks at Digikey and don't want to pitch a fit but...I guess I'm feeling just a little bit persecuted here, I'll get over it, you folks took one on the chin on 9/11 so it's not like I don't understand the caution, ah! you know what, I was just venting, ignore me, lol

btw, the Boston Bruins had more Canadians playing on their team than the Vancouver Canucks...I had a tough time deciding who to root for, lol

Do US citizens need a passport to get into Canada now? I used to.....as a younger person live across the border from Sarnia and then all we had to do was declare where we were from
