Everyone is different and what works for one (or even many) may not work for others. While there is a lot of great advice to be found here, vaping is not necessarily a "one size fits all" situation. I ran right out and ordered the Boge cartos because so many suggested them and hate them. My tank cartridges give me a much more satisfying TH and I love the ease of use. Am I saying,"Oh, don't try the Boge cartos!"? Absolutely not because they clearly work for others but my point is that they don't work for me. I also keep seeing,"Tanks suck because they leak!". Again, I haven't had that issue and love my tanks.

I have really enjoyed this forum but it kinda puts me off to see the attitudes of, "Real vapers use _____", or,"Only silly n00bs like ______".

The more I read the more I am reminded of car discussions. Some love Fords while others swear by Chevys.

I drive a 5 year old, 4dr, Toyota Yaris. I love it. It's cheap, has great mileage and it gets me to exactly where I wanna be without all the bells and whistles. That's pretty much how I view vaping. If you want to drive a pimped out monster truck that is more than fine with me but please don't imply that I am somehow a lesser person because I prefer not to.

It just bothers me that new folks might miss out on something that works for them because others insist that it won't.

I feel that way when I see people dismissing the 808's out of hand as somehow inferior - they're not. Lots of vapers have been using them successfully for years.

The bottom line is that everyone is different and their tastes in e-cig models, juices and accessories will vary widely. That's ok. It's all part of the fun.

Some people don't want to bother with cartos, some don't like tanks.

I didn't like cartos until I started getting punched ones with a tank sleeve.

I agree, I dont know what it is that makes people think theirs is always the best. You see it with everything. Im a big gun guy and guys are terrible about that with guns. The gun they carry is always better than everybody else's. Especially if they paid 3 times as much as you for it!! Cars, guns or PV's people just think theirs is better.
I will say I like the boge's but just happened to order them with my first kit and went back to them b/c they worked better for me. At the same time I have a tank that I must have gotten lucky with b/c it has never leaked and works great!

I started Vaping 3 months ago. I started on a Lavatube and a Tube Tank. I hated it. I don't need to change the voltage and I don't enjoy the TH sensation at all. I switched to Bottom Feeders with Cartomizers, I did enjoy those, but again, they reminded me of the Tube Tank a bit with the inner Bottle. The TH was still pretty strong on those and I just didn't like it.

I switched to 100% VG juice, that cured almost 95% of the TH issue I was having right off the bat. I have spent a huge amount of time on these forums learning and I'm still learning so much. When I started I thought Volcano was the only place to get this stuff, I quickly learned different, and I learned how some things fit with some mods while others are a big No No.

I think my greatest lesson so far is to make sure when you put a Mod in your glove box to run into the Grocery store, not to put it in there where the button is pressed continuously. Burnt the crap out of my hand and almost set my car on fire.

What's been my sweet spot so far? A nice 510 or 808 Carto with fresh Coffee/Hilton mix in a fresh Vapor Titan battery. Or a freshly filled Clearomizer on an Inferno Battery.

Great thread. I've never tried a Boge carto, and I'm not sure I'd know what to do with it, since I've enjoyed attys since I started vaping. Started out with an eGo, which I still use and enjoy, but within my first month of not smoking, I bought a Reo Mini bottom-feeder, and then another. Now I have a few back-ups, and can use my preferred juices (Creme Caramel, Black Cherry Marshmallow, and Belle Amaretto, from Virgin Vapor) without having to change bottles (or the clearomizer, in the case of the eGo).

I drive a 2003 Honda Element, which, when I first saw it, reminded me of a camera. I'm a gear person, and I love the versatility of my Element. It can carry loads of stuff, it's excellent for camping, and has all wheel drive, so it moves well in snow. The sleek rectangular shape of my Reos seem to fit the asethetic of my all-purpose Honda E, though no one in their right mind would call the E sleek!

hmmm... this puzzles me. You say you cant stand boege cartos but you like using a tank. Lately I've been buying the 15 boege carto deals. I like them when I'm sampling juices. When I'm done with that juice I simply throw the carto away. The juices I like will go into a tank system. I cant tell the difference between them.

I'm NOT saying boege is the best but I would like to know why you hate them. Is it the more frequent topping off of the carto?

Regardless of what product you are talking about, I hate when people are like that at all. Out of the 6,999,591,318 people in the world right now, not everyone will have the same opinion over certain things.

Example 1 - "Why would you use E-Cigs? A 'buddy-o-mine' used one he got at the mall for THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS and it didnt do anything. ALL e-cigs are dumb and ......ed and dont work!!!"

You hit the nail on the head! I've been vapeing for over a year now and I still use XL cartridges with my atty's. Easy and cheap. I fill one up and it lasts for over a half a day, just in time for me to change flavors which I would have done anyway. Mention that on ECF and people will scoff but quite frankly I could care less. It works for me and I tend not change just for the sake of change which has saved me a whole bunch of money this past year!

I can't get as good of a TH off of them. I've tried with several juices ranging from 70/30 up to 100% VG. That, combined with what a pain they are to fill (compared to my tanks) and, yeah, they're just sitting in a drawer waiting for the zombie apocalypse. I'd use them again then.

My guess would be that you have 3ohm cartos to use on your 3.4volt battery.

But, now you know why we had over 1,000 types of cigarettes to choose from.

The hardest thing I see most people deal with, when they first start vaping, is finding the hardware that works best for them. I started out with the eGo-T kit, and the tanks--I still use them today, because it works for me. I do admit to curiosity, when I see a lot of hardware being suggested on the forums, and I recently purchased some of the VISION eGo Stardusts to try, but I'm pretty sure I won't ever give up my tanks. It is interesting to read about a lot of the different mods that people suggest, and, if something really caught my eye, I might try them, but stick with what works best for you.

Different strokes for different folks, you know?

I totally agree. The main thing we need to remember is "tolerance". When I was a smoker, the ex-smokers and smoke-haters made me feel like a second hand citizen. Even though most of them didn't know I smoked, their comments were hurtful. Now that I've been a vapor for a month, I no longer have that cloud of guilt hanging over my head. But I will not condemn those who prefer to smoke cigarettes.

I have a very simple system that works for me: Riva-T tanks on a 510 battery. Mine have never leaked and it doesn't make me look like I'm vaping an immersion blender. But if you want a bigger set-up, that's fine too. I think many posts are just people who are proud of their set-ups and not necessarily a mandate to buy that particular model.

I've tried the Boge cargos and they're fine; just a bit more time consuming than the tank. Keep in mind that we're all here to help each other through the very difficult task of putting away analogs forever. Whatever works to accomplish that goal is fine with me.

I absolutely agree with too much "this is the only answer" advice.

When I started the posts were praising the joys of attys over cartos, and all the different sizes and styles. I bought a handful of adapters and tried one or two of each, 401, 510, 306, 808, 810, ego, in different ohm ranges and different construction. One or two of each was still cheaper than my smoking habit, found what I like......and the rest is in my stash waiting for the zombies....

Now thankfully I find those comments in the minority, most of this community is very supportive in noobs efforts to find what works for them.

I don't think that's the intent of so many people offering advice here; it's just that, at this point, there are so many people offering advice on so many things, from batteries to attys to cartos to juice, that even most vets can get overwhelmed.
I don't want to think about how many different kits or starter cigs there are out there, but you be pretty sure, it's probably at the point that, where one kit works perfectly for one person, and that same kit is terrible to another who tried it.
In the end, you make your own decisions; you try your own mods; you pick your own juices, and when you find something that works for you, everything's good.
