So, a certain somebody, claiming birthday rights, has asked for a snippet. The mods aren't in snippet condition (no finish on them yet); however, I was meaning to submit a progress report this afternoon. So, it all works out. I wanted to thank you all for your patience and understanding on my slow-down in mod production. Things seem to be getting mostly back to normal now, and I'm hard at it on the mods. (i.e. full time) I'm doing topcap assembly glue-ups today. Next will be final shaping/flushing (tomorrow). Proper snippets should be later this week as I get into finishing.

So, secret person's birthday "snippets" are basically representative of the status of all mods (by midnight tonight, anyway).

Happy Birthday, Secret Person!!!!!!! ;) :toast:

BTW: if it's not your birthday, don't ask. Anyway, I'll be out in the shop working, and any personal snippet requests will fall on deaf/absent ears.

Been playin' again.
Had a spare Triangle cap, SS tubing, and some misc silicone grommets laying around.
Thought, "Hey I'm an oversquonker because I like to get my MM really wet and that is messy cause sometimes juice leaks out so what can I come up with to prevent that?"

20140811_191521_zps7hj3w50_edit_1407802675375_zpse63joea_edit_1407802736845_zpsddqswgqi.jpg

SS tube angles down.
Silicone inside is to prevent shorting out against positive post.
Silicone outside is to seal hole I drilled at an angle and down just missing the drip tip.

Looks really dorky.
Has to be assembled after the cap is on which is a PITA.
Air flow is a little constricted for me due to the thick SS tube.
Flavor and vapor are really good.
Can squonk the heck out of it without leaking.

(Yea I know it is on a VW mod, but I had to have a control subject which is OliveR with an identical RM2 with normal airhole placement)

Go head and make fun me.

Btw what size o-ring are in the bottle caps you use? I know they are way beefier and last longer than the REOs.

I thought they were the same size (1/16" CS, 1/2" OD). The only difference might be that they're N70, or 70 Duro, although that's the most common hardness*. (They are Buna-N Nitrile . . .. which I thought was typical as well.)

*I'm not sure if the hardness is established by the Nitrile content. However, I do know that the Nitrile content affects hardness (greater N = harder), and I know that:

"A higher Nitrile content enhances resistance to fuel and oil but elasticity and resistance to compression set is adversely affected"

Its a noticeable difference in thickness as you can see even with my crappy photo skills...
