Well guys, if you read my previous post, I ordered an ego starter kit, and a double fistful of juices from freedomsmokeusa. This is after a substantial amount of research on this site, as well as elsewhere. Well... I'm weak. Thus the title of this post. I saw a nicstick (which if you read my post previously, I HATED the taste of when it was demoed). Well, after reading up on this site quite a lot, I've come to the conclusion that it was more than likely the juice. Considering I'm a serious menthol smoker, (since I started) and since I only had one puff off a new cart, I'm looking at this thing thinking it was bad luck. Wondering if I should get it. Hoping maybe I was wrong about it.
This is when I noticed a few things. The only kit they had in stock was a menthol. The one I tried earlier was a tobacco. Second, they are now selling juice in a dropper bottle, instead of prefilled carts. Third, (and this was the serious surprise), it's got 510 printed on the side. It's a 510 auto kit! Pretty basic, nothing special, nearly exactly what's described and pictured on this site for a 510, except that it's got an auto batt in it.
Well, I couldn't pass it up. Picked it up about half an hour ago, and still trying to figure out if my impression of the tobacco being sickly sweet carries over to the menthol. It certainly tastes better, as my lungs don't feel quite so on fire from it. But it's got a LOT of throat hit, something I'm not sure I'm 100% happy with. It also produces plenty of vape. I'll have to do my first review on this thing!
End result, I'm not sure if it was good for me to buy it, but it was 25$ for the kit, it's here in town, so if I need to I can get replacement parts (and not for that much more than online surprisingly. 12$ for a new atty, comes with 5 carts.). The juice is EXPENSIVE. Looks like 13$ for 15ml, 'bout double what it is anywhere online. Still, got a menthol, I'll run out of 3 carts before my ego and juice gets here, and I don't want to run out.
The way I figure it, this will make a passable backup. It's an auto, still don't know how I feel about that. But it's cheap, local, with nearly every gas station and smoke shop in the area starting to stock juice and parts. So I've got my backup, if my ego (when it gets here sometime next week) goes completely out, and I don't have parts on hand.
Just so you know, if my wife doesn't accept that as a valid excuse for buying one, I'm blaming every single one of you for giving me a new (albiet less expensive) hobby, when I just got rid of the first (new smartphone every 3-6 months). Best part of all this? I HAVE A PV! I'm not resenting the fact that it's labor day anymore, since I actually can quit analogs today, instead of late next week when my ego and juice gets here. And by that time, I might actually be used to this whole vape taste thing...
