I've been watching some videos and reading reviews and seeing a lot of complaints about the low power these put out. not being able to set the volts higher than 3.something on some carts.

Is this really the case? user error? fixed in updates?

also, one video i watched said that every time he reconnected it to his computer he had to reinstall the the software just to get the hardware recognized. This seems like a big deal. Has anyone else had this problem?

First, this is a regulated device. Like all regulated devices it has set limits built in for proper operation and user protection.
Max output under current firmware application is 11 watts. Voltage is simple one factor in a formula to achieve power output.
Ohms law at work. An accurate estimate would be 3.7v under extreme load for an electronic. i.e. 3.7v @ 1.3ohms=10.5 watts. Well above safe recommended vaping power.

Second questions answer. Most people are PC illiterate. Yea, we can surf the web and even install a program through windows, but that by no means says we know what we are doing.
MVR up to version 1.3 was installed as a basic x86 software and had no internal capability of self setting permissions.
People reinstalling never thought to right click and run as administrator or click program properties and security/advanced and give full permissions.
Program runs flawlessly when set up properly.

MVR1.3 now does the setup work during install.

Hope this helps
