Agreed. I was watching the news and saw roll by on the ticker "WHO unsure of safety of e-cigarettes"
Thought WTF is an e-cigarette? I did a few days research, and ordered mine. I've been very happily analog free since April 3.

Any exposure will start a few questioning. ~ P

I agree too. When I heard about ecigs the 'safety' issue wasn't even a thought. I just wanted to get off analogs---and stop paying the high tax.

The fact I've spent more on ecigs so far is totally irrelavent.

Yes. Very much so....

we are all being stereotyped by the smoking everywhere models.

That's why I immediately tell anyone who sees me vaping, and is interested about one, to not go to a mall---and to completely ignore SE et al. I then tell them about this forum to get real info.

um...really? ecigs are OUTRIGHT cheaper than cigarettes?

Um, uh, SURE! ... "If I could just quit switching gear and thinking I have to try every flavor juice out there to find the perfect as-is or mixing component," she writes while idly wondering when her third rig in 2-1/2 months, a Prodigy, will arrive...

And yeah, it is a pity that the first time people encounter e-cigs, it's often at a kiosk. (Makes me want to go malling, which I hate, and bug them with my 510.) I got lucky like some of you... saw a brief local news report, did some research, and found THIS place (and read posts from folks who were sorry they didn't find the forum first). It pays to be an info-nerd.

So yeah, maybe the Parade piece will get some people thinking about alternatives. I just hate seeing these Big Lies repeated ad nauseam in the press. It tends to ingrain negatives in the public consciousness, and the people who are inclined to think e-cigs should be banned never investigate further because it would muck up their worldview.

Dosent help too much though if peoples first impression is, being told to stick with crappy tasting gum and expensive patches. At CVS I still get those coupons on my receipts for 25 off the patches.
